- KimGot a call from this # 800-743-5000 to my office. He introduced as Travis Johnson from PG&E, he was asking for manager or owner who handle the bill, he has our correct address. At first I thought he was talking about power pole repair within business premises, I asked him to leave message for manager, he said "as I said my name is James Turner, from PG&E, phone number 888-503-4441" need to take care of the issue "about late payment to prevent power shut off today since a technician is on the way". I like urmmmmm NO WAY. Do you forget your name? then I said I was busy and hung up. Waste my time. Obviously it is a spoof #.

- Sandra| 2 repliesI received this call following a PG&E workman responded (promptly) to my call about smelling gas fumes in my home. He came and investigated/corrected the problem. The call wanted response to a short survey about the visit. I also believe this is the number that is shown when I get requested updates on power outages in my area.
- Caller: PG&E
- Call type: Valid
- MikeHuntleton replies to SandraI don't know if you noticed or not, but people have ALREADY stated this number belongs to PG&E for 10 years now..........AND if you searched this number in a web search it SHOWS as "Frequently asked questions about new 1-800-743-5000 hours - PG&E" in the TOP of the search results. So anyone wanting to figure out who their caller might be would have that knowledge long before reading your post.
So I have to wonder why you think posting a vague legitimate report of your call will somehow reassure everyone .... ...something??? Its not a review site...so thats not it....., its not a competition of what type of callers call the most....so thats not it........ and its surely not going to make a difference in HOW legitimate YOUR call was to reassure people they won't get a scammer asking them to pay or get service shut off.....¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A legitimate number does not validate the caller is legitimate.
A legitimate call for someone, does not validate a caller will be legitimate for everyone else.
Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did. - Kat replies to SandraGoogle phone number spoofing.

- GuyIt was PG&E. I don't answer 800 calls but they left a longish voicemail letting me know about upcoming needs to check meters, etc. and reminding that all workers have ID. Seems totally legit. Asked me for nothing and gave a number to call if I wanted more info.

- JoeCaller id = Toll Free Call. No message left, but I blocked this number eons ago. This is a fake spoof (especially if it is a PG&E number) because I got another Toll Free Call today where people reported that that number as being from Microsoft (855-540-9444). Is it coincidental that I would get two Toll Free Calls in one day? NOPE!!! Related called from the same scam dude.
- Caller: scam
- SpudI've been receiving calls from this number for a few days now. I have most 8xx numbers blocked. Could be PG&E since they sometimes call to let me know they will have some tree-trimmers that may need to access my property. They'll show up whether I answer the phone or not and I always let them access what they need and, usually, go watch them work.
