Don't be fooled by the 513 area code... these people are in the Phillipines.  The woman admitted it, when I jumped all over her.  They use several numbers, all showing "OHIO CALL" on your Caller ID.  They were calling 5-6 times a day - claiming to be from Macy's, about a payment issue and asking for account/ SS# information in order to "verify" my account.  I let them have both barrels!  THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE BANK THAT UNDERWRITES MACY'S ACCOUNTS.  I did not owe Macy's a payment.  Payment had been two weeks earlier.  Macy's accounts are handled by FSB Bank...  in the U.S.

So these are either scam artists OR FSB Bank is allowing offshore people to collect YOUR PERSONAL AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION.  I don't know about you... but I don't deal with offshore people, who are not governed by U.S. law.  I put FSB on alert... If I ever get another call like this... I am dumping the Macy's account completely.  Can't deal with a U.S. bank, whose business practices set me up for identity theft.
