California business bureau - got any past medical bills that are long overdue?  Private collection agency with a name that's designed to make you think they are from the state or something.

They are a third party biller(Collection Company) "representing" UCI Med Center.
Current contacts: Babrbara, Yolanda, Delphina, and Kris.
All are unprofessionally rude.

They also do billing and collections for UCSD Medical Center.  I got a call on my cell phone 1 week after I paid my bill, which was not due for another 2 weeks.  I am not happy that UCSD gave my cell phone number that was intended for medical contacts to a third party.  I think that if they are calling on behalf of UCSD, they should say so.  And I don't like getting calls from a collection business when I am not in arrears, or at all for that matter.

I got  a letter from MBS, with this number.  My boyfriend had an eye injury back in May and went in to the emergency room - he does not have personal health insurance.  He has been billed $529.00 by the emergency room doctor who took care of his eye and suggested he continue seeing him or another doctor - he ended up going to another eye doctor who a friend - a doctor - recommended.

Yesterday, he received another bill for $9,351.50 from MBS with this telephone  number.  I called ask a full accounting of this ridiculous bill.  I got some snot nose of a rude person on the line and I basically ended up demanding that they send me a full accounting of this. He wanted to know if we had insurance, yada, yada, yada, but he was just a rude little jerk.  I have no idea what they did that warrants this charge and quite frankly I don't know who in the hell these people are.

I like you, do not like to get calls when I am not in arrears or even, for that matter, unless I am delinquent and deal with that when/if that happens.  

We had not received any previous billing or invoices and it already went to "collections?"  What is up with that?  They were rude and obviously in the wrong as they were on the defense when I called to ask what the bill was for. Of course they could no tell me and had to get back to me.  My boyfriend was a walk-in at the emergency room to check his eye and charged over $10,000.00 for what??  This is ridiculous - most likely a scam.

i dont answer number that come in as"ABSENT NUMBER" and then dont say what is regarding ,,out standing bill or unpaid bill or ect.ect.ect .   and how did you get my number ....not good business...

This is a collection agency. Ignore them.

got a call from 800-755-1533  saying this message is for blah blah my name and this is lucy from medical billing services please return my at ext 282 so I call her back but she didn't answer so I call back and talk to someone else and said I don't oue any medical bill so don't again.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
