This call is a scam. It came after a legitimate fraud prevention call from my credit card company informing me about a real (but much smaller) fraudulent charge made on my card. The recorded voice claims someone purchased a MacBook Pro and AirPods using my card for $1500. Let's think about this for a second. How would they know they exact merchandise purchased rather than just the amount and name of the merchant (say, an Apple Store location or apple.com)? After checking online, there was of course no record of a pending transaction in this amount on my card like there was for the legitimate fraud. It's likely the people who made the fraudulent charge knew I'd be getting a call from my card company and tried to leverage that for an additional scam opportunity of some kind.
