- Val| 2 repliesI just called the number back. The recorded message said they were the "Firefighter's Burn Fund." Then, you're given the number to customer service (1-800-378-6470) where you can remove your phone number from their files if you wish.
Hope this helps! - noneThis number has been phoning my about five times per day for the last two weeks. When do they realize I don't answer 1-800 numbers?

- noneOoops! Didn't mean to hit the Submit button twice :(
- Kath| 1 replyWe took Val advice posted Nov 26 2009 and it was fast and easy. We sure don't mind helping our charities but when the start phoning every week and are extremely pushing and then start getting rude that is when we have had enough
- Caller: Fireman Burn Fund
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- MuchingoThese guys are absolute jerks. Have been calling us non-stop for over a month. Have added our number to their "do not call" list, but calls keep coming. At this point it is harassment. Am looking for a direct line to a manager or supervisor...

- noneI get about 2-4 calls a day from this number. I never answer 1-800 numbers. Very frustrating.
- Tracey G replies to ValThank you that does help!
- SparkyYup same here call and don't leave a message. If anyone knows their home phone nnumber maybe I can return their call their later!!
- Caller: unkown
- Karen replies to ValI did call that number to get me off the list, and we'll see if it works. You can't have a blocked number or a private number or the do-not-call functino won't work. Cross your fingers!
- Square Bob SquishypantsCalled twice with nothing to say. They won't be bothering me anymore. Blocked.
- jo McFost| 1 replyThanks for the 800 number above to remove me from list. Hopefully that works.
- browny replies to KathIt's not the charities phoning, it's fundraising companies that the charities employ on commission. They get pushy because they are in it simply for the money, just like any other telemarketing firm. They could not give a hoot about the charity they phone for, they just use the charity's name to lay a guilt trip on decent people. Shame the charities allow this abuse, but don't feel obliged to give as little actually goes to the cause you think you are supporting. All part of the modern day "charity industry" Sad but true.
- jo McFost replies to jo McFostWell that backfired. I got three more calls the day I asked them to remove me from their list. Now, I've tried to call block, but I suspect they'll just use another number to call from.
- suzy QOnce donated to The Firefighters' Burn Fund - really wanted to help them. But now they won't leave me alone. I call this "donor abuse". I tried to get these pests to put me on their DNC list a couple of years ago. Even went through the exercise of calling my local FireFighters' Burn Fund organization - who also assured me that they would stop calling. But it has never stopped. At one point they had a telemarketer doing their calling for them - Xentel, in my case - and it is totally useless to talk to them.
Of course they use auto-dialers, so there's no human effort on their part - only on your part. Need to attach phone-line to computer and run a computer app, 24x7, that recognizes nuisance numbers and silences the annoying ring - among other things. I'd even consider dedicating a computer to that function.- Caller: Firefighters' Burn Fund
- Call type: Telemarketer
