- Blah replies to Jen| 1 replyThe "Do Not Call" list is BS. I asked them several times to take me off their list. It lasts maybe 2 months and they're calling again.
- Jammer| 1 replyThey called me too, and quite frequently, always when Im not around my phone, cause if I do answer im going to flip on them.
Cheers all - JammeR| 5 repliesI asked them to take my phone number off the list and they said no problem, I will reply back at a later time if I still recieve more phone calls from them. Just call the number back and tell them you dont want them calling your cell phone......easy as pie. She was very helpful, I am just waiting to see if i get another call.
- Caller: Royal bank of canada
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JammeR again replies to JammeRPS>>>>I called RBC to see if 1-800-469-2510 is an actual RBC Telephone number, and they confirmed it is just the outgoing calls from RBC. I was a little scared when I looked at the back of my card and it said 1-800-769-2511, eleven rather then 10, but they said it is a trustworthy RBC number.
- Ben| 1 replyI've been getting one or two calls from this number every weekday for the past couple weeks now. I never answer 1 800 numbers, and they never leave a message. It's really annoying! At least now I know what company it is. I'll try telling them to stop now.
- In Calgary...| 1 replyWhen I called the number back, I connected with a customer service rep. She was very pleasant in initiating the removal of my number from the telemarketing list. I suspect that Royal Bank outsources some of their marketing initiatives and it's probably being handled by a third party. Royal Bank would probably want to know that this method is costing them customers - CALL THEM AND TELL THEM!
- Caller: Royal Bank
- CKSame here... they first started to call once a day. I haven't picked it up because if it's important enough, they should leave me a message plus I try not to pick up calls from my cell when I'm at work. I usually just call people, who've left me messages, back at the end of the day.
Now they're calling at least twice a day.... it is getting quite annoying. - annoyedThank goodness for this little forum. Got at least several calls in the last 2 days. It's really really annoying. I was trying to do a search on the internet and pulled up this chat windows. Just realised that it's actually RBC. The annoying little thing is that (again, same old story) they wouldn't leave a message or anything. They call you at the most awkward moments! :@
- Caller: they say: RBC
- JFBThat number called yesterday at 6 PM and did not leave any message. That is why I went on the Internet to see it if was possibly scam..
They did not call back though.. I hope I did not talk too fast!- Caller: Unknown (might be RBC)
- leafer| 3 repliesI wouldn't call an RBC agent a "telemarketer". They call to update us on different accounts, and believe it or not, they save you money and educate you and give you tips and ideas on banking and making banking more convenient. Sure they try to sell you on some products but they don't pressure. If it's my bank calling, i'd pick up and listen to exciting new offers. If it's someone trying to sell me a vaccuum cleaner or a newspaper subscribtion i just say "not interested".
- hammer| 3 repliesI did some research and the reason they don't leave a message is because of a confedentiality issue. Because it is a banking matter, it's a privacy policy the agent must follow. So it's actually good they don't leave messages. When I get calls from RBC, it's usually pleasent and I get off the phone feeling updated and more educated about overall banking.
- CCWATTSCourtsey call for RBC, asking if you are satified with your accounts, and tried to offer a credit card.
- Caller: RBC
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Matt| 1 replyThis is a call from RBC (Royal Bank of Canada).
They call from time to time as part of their "engagement to stay close to their customers". They call to make sure everything is oki with my account, that my plan corresponds to what I need etc.
The lady was very police and even asked if it was a good time for me to discuss.
1-800-769-2510 is actually the real number of RBC, posted on their website with all the series of 800-769-251X- Caller: RBC
- Call type: Unwanted
- Annoyed5 times today (so far) no message
- annoyed replies to mkI'm so glad I found this board. They have been calling me now for a month straight sometimes twice a day. Don't they get it when after a month you haven't picked up the phone?!
- RaffoThanks for the heads up. I thought it was the RCMP or the Firefighters Charitable fund. Everyone seems to be soliciting for money.
- Stop Calling MeSo I have 2 bank accounts, one with TD and one with RBC. For the past 3 months, TD calls me approximately 4 times a day, every time it comes up a different number (i never pick up 1-800 numbers, i always search them on the internet, this is how i know they're TD). Well as of 2 weeks ago, not only am I getting the daily calls from TD, but now I'm getting the daily calls from RBC as well!!! RBC also uses different numbers, 1-800-769-2510 is just one of many. INSANE!!!!
