- zZz7 replies to Laurie| 1 replyI got this call a couple of days ago, and missed it. No VM since I've had such a problem with spam calls I called my Cell provider to disable my VM completely. And after reading here, I blocked it. But for some reason, it was ringing through today under my "Spammers" contact. So I answered it very cautiously, and someone did answer back claiming to be from RBC. It was about my investments that my company buys through them for me, and how I needed to go in to update them in person. He cited personal & work information that confirms this is 100% legitimate. Asked me for nothing, only just to inform me I needed to make an appointment to ensure my account info are up to date as it is required by law.
It seems legitimate to me, and I've unblocked it off my phone since. - Abcd replies to zZz7Then why were they calling me without me even having an account with them 🧐🧐
- TammyAfter receiving this call I hung up and called the actual RBC phone # on my bank card to report the number. They told me it was actually a legit call from RBC Investment Department. It is part of a "proactive" team they have to make sure they are providing you with the right products/investment advice for your $$$. She said you can request that your phone # be removed from the "proactive call" list, it takes about 7 business days for the calls to stop. It's RBC, not a scam,
- Caller: RBC
- Call type: Valid
- PamThis number called me asking for my client card number as well as my phone number and my address I hung up on them phoned my bank and they told me they don’t have that number on there files
- Caller: They said RBC
- Bob replies to LaurieIt’s really not, Laurie. You’ve been had or you’re helping them
- Graham replies to PeteJust ignored a call from this number, and they left no message. The fact that RBC charges for everything gives me an idea. Maybe I’ll answer next time and tell them I charge (say) $25 to listen to sales pitches. Would they like to send me the money to set up an appointment?
- JanitaTwice in the last few days I got a call. I answer, there's a pause then the line is cut. It shows as RBC.

- CraigBlocked call after they called twice showing RBC as caller ID. First time was on a Sunday at 5:30 P.M. then 3:30 PM on Tuesday. Phone rings 3 times and they hang up never leaving a message. If important and legit then leave a message and I will then investigate by calling RBC directly about this number. I suspect a scam or telemarketer and will not answer this call. Caller ID's can be easily faked.
- Caller: RBC
- Call type: Telemarketer
- HerculesThis number is a SCAM. They spoofed RBC to a tee, and sound so RBC professional; Caller ID and Message. I called this number out of curiosity, and they made me wait about 10 minutes then they wanted my personal banking information so they could pull out my profile, and this is when I knew 100% that this was a total scam. I had called my branch and the last 2 digits of the phone number is not RBC. Beware of this or lose all that you have monetarily associated with your RBC Account.
