Progressive Insurance calling about a claim

Call from 512-664-9501 claiming Progressive Insurance Rep directing to call 800-766-4737!!  

It is Progressive. I received a call from that number and was able to speak with a Progressive rep. I was making changes to my insurance coverage (with Progressive) and I received a courtesy call from them.

I received five calls from this number 1:00am to 1:30am.  Two messages were left that were only beep sounds like a FAX trying to come through.  Very irritating!  The number is now in call block prison.

Six calls at 5-6 minute intervals starting at 2:53 PM on a Tuesday, all with intermittent beep.

I keep on getting then today around 8:30 at 5-6 minute intervals. After a while I just gave up on canceling their calls and put the phone on silent so I could ignore theme. I'm a teen! Why are they calling me?!

I had the same experience today, though luckily not in the wee hours of the morning.  Except for the 3rd call, which I answered hoping to tell a live person to stop calling, a VM was left with each call that was nothing but beeps.

This # appears to be the toll free # for Progressive Insurance. :/

Set it up so they don't get anything from your number but a ringing phone. As long as they're getting some kind of answer, they're bound to continue calling.

On 6-27-16, they are "Progressive Insurance". On 06-28-16, they are "Toll Free Call".

So I think the probability that they are Progressive is less than 20%.

Spam calls from 800-776-4737

I just received 5 calls from this number, all within a few minutes of each other.  I answered the first and just got beeps.  I let three go to voicemail (just beeps for a message).  I answered the last, and again just beeps.  I contacted Progressive and they verified it is their number, but there was no record of them calling me.  They agreed to look into the issue.  In the meantime, I am blocking the number to stop the calls.

It's Halloween evening and kids are coming for treats until 9 pm. During the past 30 minutes, I have received 6 calls from that 800 number.  All calls went to voice mail but there was no message other than a series of beeps.  I have no business with Progressive so the calls are most likely an annoying  prank.

This is 100% an outbound line number that is used by the claims department of the Progressive Insurance Branch in Riverview, FL.  It's not a scam, it's not a prank, it's Progressive insurance.  If you call the number and don't get a person or you hear beeps or fax machine sounds it's because this is an outbound line that does not accept inbound calls all the time.  The line can be switched to accept inbound calls or it can be switched to not accept inbound calls and to either redirect the caller to another phone or just rejects the call with beeping.  You're a moron if you think this is a scam or a prank, learn to use google then use google to learn how to use a phone.  If you are having trouble seeing your computer screen or hearing on your phone it's probably your tinfoil hat getting in the way.
