    Dear Lyn,

It's the number TurboTax uses to call back customers who want help with their tax software product. If you didn't ask them to call you, it may be a simple misdial.

I returned the call from this number as I was asking help from Turbo Tax. The lady who was assisting asked for some security questions and then asked me if she could access my computer. I refused to do that as I have learned that some sites access your computer to hack your personal information. I waited for over 25 minutes to receive assistance as she kept saying she needed to get some information from a tax advisor. After that time, she said her systems companywide were down. I do not know if my information has been compromised at this point. Scary times... not sure if I would like to use TurboTax any more even though I have used it for years.

Understandable to be cautious but this is legit, when they say they want to "access your computer" they only get to share the view of the browser window that you're trying to use to run the Online version of TurboTax .  Intuit stands to lose way more in the way of customer trust and PR (not to mention lawsuits) than they would ever gain from scraping data from user machines.  As difficult as it can be to have a productive conversation with over-the-phone tech support this is a feature I'm glad to see they have.

Having said all that ... I don't blame you for being suspicious, but after 20 years of using TurboTax and thereby giving Intuit access to my personal financial records, I guess I can say they've earned my trust.

Turbo Tax Deluxe was suppose to include free State filing along with the Fed. filing (that is why I purchased the deluxe version), Purchased from Amazon.  Spoke to amazon about this and they said they had received numerous complaints that Intuit Turbo Tax was charging $24.99 additional when you actually file the Fed/St returns.  Spoke to Intuit Turbo tax person and she asked me if she could remote access my computer!!!!!   I refused to do that as I have learned that some sites access your computer to hack your personal information. I waited for over 20+ minutes, Tina said I am entitled to a refund of the $24.99 but she could not tell me how to do that and that I she would call me back by the end of the day.  Intuit seems to use a lot of unethical practices.

Asked TurboTax to call regarding an issue with my Intuit payment. Payment method shows my card but the Cardholder name is someone else with different address. The gentleman on the phone had no answer for me. Basically a possible glitch. ?? Super weird, super sketchy, especially since the name and address is only down the street from me. Anyone else ever have that problem. Wrong name on payment print out?
