- paulI had looked up the phone number on a UPS collection notice that I received 800-811-1648 and many sites state it is a fake number - CAUTION IT IS A REAL NUMBER OF THE UPS BILLIING DEPT

- Roy F.I received in the mail (USPS!) an unexpected invoice from UPS containing the contact phone number (800) 811-1648. The invoice was legitimate - not fraud - but a UPS employee apparently fumble-fingered the account number when someone shipped a package with 3rd party billing. Apparently you can bill to an account with no other information than a shipper number, which does not even contain a check digit. So the invoice came to me instead of to the correct responsible party. A call to UPS was all it took to rectify the situation. The invoice even contained the correct account number in a field labeled "total for shipper". The correct number differed from my account number by a single digit. You might have an account at UPS and not even know about it. If you print UPS or USPS labels online at eBay or PayPal, you might have a UPS account you don't know about. You just might want to call UPS and close the account, to avoid becoming a victim of one of their frequent keying errors.

- JoeThis is not a scam. That is the UPS billing/invoice office phone number and address in Philadelphia. I do have a UPS account that I very rarely use. But SFS Intec in Reading, PA has started using my account number to ship to Fastener Systems in West Chester, PA. Same shipper and same receiver for a dozen shipments in the past 10 days. Either he is fraudulently using my account by trying numbers at random til one worked, or has entered his account number incorrectly and came up with mine. The UPS agent at this number today was working to reverse charges to him and delete them from my account. They did not try to get me to pay the hundreds charged, nor ask for any credit card information. It is the UPS billing office, not some gal in her basement fielding scam calls. With billions of packages sent worldwide, and the largest fleet of owned aircraft, UPS is not a small company. And humans being human, billing errors do occur inside and outside UPS. It is not unusual. Considering my account dates to last century and I have not used it this century, I could easily forget and claim I don't even have an account. But I still do, and it is my account number. Call that invoice listed phone number if you get an invoice in error. The computer filtering machine on the general UPS phone number will have you cussing. Your invoice (if you download it or receive it in the mail) will clearly show who sent to whom, names, addresses, and package tracking numbers. I checked the company names involved and they are indeed real. It's hardly a scam when the sender and receiver information is clearly shown if you look for it. It's a fraudulent user using your account, or a billing account number error, usually the latter. If you've "never opened" a UPS account and the sender listed is you, either you've been had by someone who stole your identity, or you have a memory problem. Just don't pay an invoice. Read it all the way through first.

- BrianI had three charges from ups totaling about $300 on my debit card. Just called my bank and had it reversed, and then called the number listed here to try and eat information about who was using my debit card.
Note, I DO NOT have a ups account and I don’t ship with them ever after the last time I used them. The woman I spoke with didn’t speak very good English, but also didn’t ask for any information except the numbers that showed up on my bank account to see where they came from.
I haven’t gotten a letter from them or any emails, but it seems a bit off to me. Either way I got my money back.- Caller: Ups

- LegitI received invoice in mail with this 800 #; I called the 866 number listed on the UPS website, they transferred me and confirmed the 800...1648 # is the real # for UPS billing. As other have noted, the charge to me was some random cross-country shipment that was not mine. They reversed charges and, hopefully, restricted my account for any further charges not coming from my address.

- ConfidentialUPS Scam - All fake and fraudulent. This time UPS PO Box 650116 Dallas, TX 75265-0166. Their invoice lacks appropriate spacing between words like P.O.Box, which a legitimate automated billing system would not have. These are bottom feeding scum bags. Beware.
