I did, on our business phone. Someone named Gordon Wilson left a message saying he was with a company called Melana Bank Card Security working for ScotiaBank. He said it was about suspicious activity on my Card. I didn't call back because I figured it was a scam.

I just verified this # is associated with Scotia Bank - received the call myself - but I answered. They had accurate account information, however for my own peace of mind, I called scotia bank myself right after the call to sort out the issue.

I too received a call from 1-800-813-6602. They are in fact Scotia Bank Card Security. They look for unusual transactions either in large amounts or merchants or recipients that you do not normally conduct business with. In my case it was an e-transfer for 3K. I thanked them for their diligence as well as protecting my funds. They quoted all my previous normal e-transfer recipients.

I got a phone call within seconds of making a small payment online.  I declined the call and got a VM.  The person who left the message was calling from scarborough Ontario.  True Caller flagged it as belonging to a Nimish Deshpande.  She gave the number 1-800-813-6602 but was calling from 416-750-6018  I didn't call either number back but called scotiabank directly. The lady totally messed up her dialogue on what she was calling about too, did not sound professional.  There happened to be a block on my credit card because of the small payment however normally i don't know my card doesn't block until I try to use the card again, not a phone call within seconds.

Turns out it was really Scotia Visa fraud dept. They left a message. I called the regular call center and they transferred me to the fraud dept. Card had charges all over the world. The only time I used the card in the last year was an online purchase from Daily Grab.

Got a call saying it was Scotia fraud department.  I didn't trust them so I called the number on the back of my card.  They told me it was a valid call and that my card had been used fraudulently.  Had to get my card cancelled and a new one issued.

legit call from Scotiabank Fraud and Bank Card Security - they left voicemail with contact # 1-800-813-6602 - verified by calling Scotiabank # on the back of my card who gave me the same name and 1-800 # as the original unknown caller, to contact their Fraud dept. They then conferenced me in to the Fraud dept. directly to check on my debit card use

Just because some people report getting a legitimate call, doesn't mean YOUR caller will be!
Scammers try tricking people by spoofing the Caller ID with a legitimate Name/Number, so they can steal your money.

Call 1-800-4-SCOTIA (1-800-472-6842) to be sure it was really them that called.

Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did.

I got a call about unusual activity from this number. I called the number on Scotiabanks website to ensure that 1-800-813-6602 was actually the fraud department, and it is. If you receive a call from that number, it is them.

I had a similar call from this number claiming to be from Fraud department saying there was suspicious activity. I called the number on back of my card, who confirmed this was NOT from their fraud department. I reported this activity to phishing@scotiabank.com

I got a call from this number saying there was “suspicious activity” on my account. It actually said my name and everything which is super creepy. I called ScotiaBank’s actual customer care line and they said nothing was wrong with my account. SCAM!!

Just had a call from this number and thought it was a scam so called back and confirmed with Scotiabank it is there Visa card security automated calling system.  I had used my card A LOT last week for online shopping and they wanted to make sure it wasn't fraudulent charges.  They said just to answer the automated prompts if it happens again.  The call doesn't ask you for any info other than to confirm your birthdate, they GIVE you all the info about recent charges and you just agree or disagree if they are valid.
