- JohnDo not respond to this number. They said it was Bank of America, and they needed information since someone had written a huge check from my visa cared. I was suspicious and worried since I don't have any accounts with with B of A, so I hung up and said I would call back. It was a scam to get information from me. Whenever you are in doubt, hang up, look up the company's number, and use the online number--not the one given to you by the caller over the phone--to verify that they are not fishing for information.
- CarolynI received a message from a colleague at work to call the phone number due to a large check or charge on my visa. They said american express and then changed it to Bank of America when I said I didn't have amex. They asked my middle initial and were fishing for information but I didn't tell them.. They had my wrong address, wrong phone numbers and no account numbers. I called my bank and they did not call so it was someone unauthorized. Don't call them back!

- BobI received a call from Card Services Fraud Department from (302) 458-1590 requesting that I return the call to (800) 817-6307. From previous experience with Bank of America, I realized that Bank of America identifies themselves as Card Services when they leave a message, but I wanted to make sure they were indeed the caller, so I went to their website.
I contacted Bank of America online through their website to verify that they were trying to contact me. The customer service rep verified that the fraud department was trying to contact me and said that both numbers were legitimate.- Caller: Bank of America
- JoshI called this number after reading a couple of the post, and asked them about being frauds. They told me they were legitimant and I could call Bank of America and have them transfer me to they're department. They're department is called FRAUD ACCESS CHECK DEPARTMENT. I did call Bank of Americas customer services and was transferred back to this same place. They also do work for all of the major credit cards and just not Bank of America.
So I believe they are legit, but if concerned just go through your credit card customer service like I did. - Linda| 1 replyThe call was legitmate...if you're unsure, call back using the toll free # on the back of your card...they informed me someone was writing cash advance checks off my credit card account to the tune of $9,000....they froze the account and issued a new card and stopped mailing the checks.
- Caller: Bank of America
- Zippy replies to LindaYes, I received a call and it was on a card of which the last 4 numbers were not my current acct. I became suspicious when he asked for the last 4 digits which I gave him what he had left on the recorder, knowing this was not my current number. He wanted my social security number and security info. Hung up and called and gave card services his bogus number! Stupid jerk!
- ABBHThis is a legitimate phone number for the Bank of America Fraud department. Like the other person stated, if you are concerned, you can call the number on the back of your credit card and be transferred to the Fraud department. I suggest not ignoring the call as it was made to verify that there are no fraudulent charges being made to your card.
- Caller: Credit Card Services
- GURU22This is a legitimate phone number. I used a Visa check and Bank of America was going to return it as "fraud" if I didn't respond to verify my usage. I did not talk with the lady who called me from Bank of America but chose to contact Bank of America customer service. I'm glad I followed up because it could have negatively affected my business. :)

- TLPSuppose you were a scammer. Wouldn't be a good strategy to go sites like this and report your scamming number as a good number? That's exactly what is going on in the good reviews above. I just rec'd a call, ignored it and they left a voicemail with 800-817-6307 to call back. The woman spoke good English but spoke very fast. She left the last 4 digits of my account, 9186, which is wrong. I called Bank of America and they told me that 800-817-6307 is NOT theirs and that it's a number that they know to be a scammer's number. Don't fall for it.
