- paleolithLooks like this number was previously used by a couple of legitimate businesses and I'm the first reporting its new use for credit card scams. "Am I speaking with Charles?" [that's my first name but I never use it] "You called us previously [a lie]. Do you still have $8,000 in credit card debt?" Don't, didn't. Plonk.
- Caller: "credit card counseling"
- LyndaFergGuessing I'm the second one reporting it. Credit Card Scam!!!
- Caller: credit card counseling
- GettingBoredWithScamCallsDefinite credit card scam. They claim to be a company that BBB shows as A+ rating, but when you ask them for their phone number they insist the phone number showing at the BBB is wrong. Yeah, right.
I was on a break, so I held the guy on for awhile for my own amusement and to waste his time. He kept saying he could help me if I was "qualified." So I asked them what it took to qualify.
He said I had to show an income. I told him I didn't have an income.
He said that didn't matter. (Gotta love them for trying.) Then he asked how I paid bills. I told them I had stock, bonds, and real estate that I sold as needed. He wasn't quite sure what to do with that info, but kept trying.
I finally got bored with the game, so I told him I had to go to dinner. He asked when he could call back. I told him there was no point, because I had $150,000 in zero-coupon bonds maturing at the end of the quarter so I'd be able to pay off all the debt.
And I'm sure he was thinking "I was so close...."- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ivory| 2 repliesReading the comments so far on this number, it's apparent they have multiple scams going on. I just received a phone call from this number from a gentleman with a strong Indian accent claiming he is from the internet security office at Microsoft. He proceeded to tell me to push certain combinations of keys on my keyboard so he could get into my computer and rid it of all spyware and other malicious items. ( I was not born yesterday, I was on to him right away from his very common American name and his claim he is from Microsoft) So I played him, and after pretending I pushed those key combinations, I raised my voice and said " whoaaaa all these porn sites are popping up!!!!" He then became very nervous and stuttered " ugh ugh hold on let me get my supervisor" lol! I hung up laughing my butt off. You have to have a little fun with these crooks, you know?

- TWKWe were called several times, similar to the Microsoft scam, we were told our warranty had run out and our computer was in danger. I asked how they knew I had a computer and did not get a response, so I hubg up. They called back a hour or so later, I just said I was on the do not call list and wanted to know why they were calling me. They hung up and I have not heard from them since.
- Caller: Did not say

- AmiahI just rec'd a call from this number 800-828-6301. I answered and they hung up. I tried to call back, however, the recording stated that my call could not be completed as dialed. So I blocked it from my line.
- Dixiedidnotfallforit800-828-6301 has called me numerous times at all different hours, night and day. Most I've ignored because the machine picks up, once I said "yea" instead of "hello" which triggers a response, the other time I said nothing, and it disconnected. Today however, the voice sounded so foreign to me, I really don't want to designated a Country, I'm sure its happening from all over the world when these scams start. This one said, from what I could make out of his speech, was calling about my windows machine.. I said yes and? and the caller hung up. I called the # back and all I got was music!

- FloI keep receiving calls from this number V09060128090065 and it's an oriental voice telling you about your computer having problems. He called me by my first name and I told him I didn't have a computer. I asked that he take my name off his list, he hung up on me. When I dialed that back the number that came up was 1-800-828-6301. No one answered, just music continued to play.
- FloHow can I stop this number from calling me.......V09060128090065(1-800-828-6301)
- doesn't matterJust received our second call of the day from 800-828-6301, and after I googled the number and read the above reports, I looked back and it's the 14th call from the number since August 26, a period of about 10 - 11 days, most of which we were away. The beautiful part is that all 14 were "zapped" by my software, because I've got "Toll free call" identified as a call to "ZAP". My software is called Phone Tray Pro and it cost about $30, but is well worth the cost and disconnets calls after one ring. If you're bothered by solicitors or anyone else, it''s a good investment.
An earlier version was called just "Phone Tray" and was free, but the new "Phone Tray Pro" is what you want and it'll cost a few bucks. - KathySomeone called and asked for my husband by his first name only.....I was sure it was a south Asian fellow....I've been getting calls about my computer lately and I keep saying I don't have one. the calls are still coming. I told the guy my husband doesn't live here anymore.
- Caller: who knows?

- Caller: ?
- nanceit's the same as the others wanting to get access to my computer, he said somebody in our network was allowing someone to hack in for info.... well to say the man will try someone else.
- dotti richJust got a call from this number and did not not answer. I noticed they have called a few times when I was not available. No wonder we are becoming anti social because of these scammers. We all want to make out going calls only!

- DEDThey called me today told them not interested right off but he wouldn't stop talking for me to say my peace I told him not to call back again ever! I understood something about Microsoft Windows and that seemed strange because they have never called me about anything you have to call them.. if any problems. I had another call from another number up north and looked it up which was also a scam because when you called the number it said it was being used illegally and contact the candian mounted police this was a scam. It sounded like the same deal they pulled before and the same foregein accent. I have had to keep an open line due to family members in the hospital or hospitals so this is nothing I need right now! Really pisses me off when they do this stuff!! And yes it probably is a scam because Microsoft Windows wouldn't be calling me on my outdated Vista I have had for 4 years!! Come on guys get a real job and earn it honestly and not steal hard working peoples money, the government already takes enough of ours for those who refuse to work!!!!
- Caller: Said Microsoft Windows
- fedupinusaI got a call from this 800 number and no one was there. When I called it back all it does is play music. I hate this crap.

- StaceyReceived calls claiming to be calls2geek. They wanted credit card info (I previously used that company). Received call two days later saying their tech dept was no longer in service and wanted to reimburse a refund via a credit card. When I asked to have it sent via mail and I mentioned a scam that my local news station bought to light they hung up!!!!

- CindyI keep receiving calls from this number 800-828-6301. When you answer it, the line then rings as if you called them. A gentleman with an accent comes on the line saying he is from windows and am I using my computer right now. Then tells "my computer called him" about some security issues. I know it must be a scam of some kind, never got far enough to find out what he is after. As soon as he is challenged in some way he hangs up. I have told him, I don't have the internet so how could my computer call him, hangs up. Told him I was on the "no call list" and asked how he got my name and number, hangs up. Told him once that I worked for windows and asked his name and where he was I was going to call the police, he of course hung up. There should be some control by the phone company over these people obtaining 800 numbers!!!! I just don't get how they can't be cut off.
- Caller: Wouldn't say
- Lisa replies to IvoryI also received this today from this number for a "Microsoft" security. He even went so far as to get his "manager" on the line. THEN the "manager" gave me his employee number! Voluntarily?? Realllly???? C'mon! Agree with having fun with them! I asked them (after 5 mins of telling them I couldn't see anything)
if it was fun having their time wasted. Then I hung up....only to have the same number call back!!!! I answered and hung up. You have to have some fun if they're going to try and screw you! - Lisa replies to IvoryI also received this today from this number for a "Microsoft" security.
