Message left on my phone claiming person is com the IRS. When called this number, a recording requested my SS# to check my status. I checked the IRS phone # data base and this # is not listed.

Answered the call and Ms Lowry identified herself as being from the IRS.  The caller ID said US GOVT on at 1-313-989-1659.  She said to return the call to the IRS at 1-800-829-3909.  When I called the number, I was thanked for calling and offered a $100 Walmart gift card.  This is total FRAUD!  The IRS does not make personal calls.

I got a letter in the mail with this number on it - seems as if the number was fraudulent. When I called it, it asked me to enter my credit card number.
