Recieved call.  Did not leave message.  Does anyone know who this is?

This number has called me so many times, 5. Don't know what the number is, I don't have a voicemail account. I doubt they would leave a message anyway though.

This number (800-531-5000) is a collection call from Direct TV.  I don't even have a DTV account.  Someone else is using my cell phone number to set up their account and not paying their bill.  This is not the first time I have called them to remove my cell phone number from an account with them.  Then it takes forever to get someone in customer service on the phone.

They prey on misdials to DIRECTV and hold themselves out to be contracted by your satellite company. They say you've been transferred to the "promotions" company and then some douche-wad hard sells you an ADT alarm system. Relentless. Obviously relentless because they can't perform the customer service you're wanting, which prompted your call, so there's nowhere for you, or them, to go. But, it's still ridiculous. I realize the economy isn't great and folks need jobs, but really? This is unconscionable and pathetic. DIRECTV could consider sending a cease and desist for trademark infringement. I heard the rep use the word "DIRECTV"

I misdialed and they treid that crap on me. Wrote to DirectV to squash these f******s.

They tried to trick me into a 3year protection plan. He got ugly when I said that I wanted to look the company's reputation first.

To start please allow me to apologize for any negative experiences any of you have had with our contact center. While we do provide service plans to satellite TV subscribers we are a totally separate company and are not affiliated with DIRECTV. We do not share or intercept DIRECTV calls. The only way a consumer can reach our company is by calling us directly. Satellite TV providers ( as well as cable providers) offer protection plans that can be purchased on a monthly basis for a set price. Our company offers termed coverage plans that give a heavy savings over the providers monthly plans for a onetime fee. For example our customers may secure 2 years of coverage for a onetime fee of $79.99 as opposed to paying $7 plus dollars per month. Our plan covers basic satellite dish parts and components and technical support as well labor for technicians if a service call is needed. Our plan additionally has a service call reimbursement process in which we reimburse customers out of pocket expenses should their service provider charge them for a service call. In addition we offer other services such as home security, Internet, and bundle packages.

I needed to call DTV on a movie order I placed.  I misdialed, and got a guy that talked about a warranty,  I told him I didn't need it,  I wanted my movie.  He said several times he was with DTV.  We got into it over the movie/warranty issue and then he said he was going to bundle my internet, pjhone, etc.  At which point I yelled at him and hung up.  These guys are liars and preying on people who misdial.  Don't believe that liar who is posting his crap on here.  

wont stop calling

I have directv on my att Bill. ATT gave me this number to call with a billing question. I have never run across a more rude person. I was trying to talk and she just kept asking for my credit card number to start the protection plan. ATT/directv should but a stop to this they are out of control!!!!!

I just received a call and they said they were from Direct TV and they were offering me 24 months plus all the pay channels at $59/month plus a $100 VISA card since I was a good customer.  The kicker was I had to pay $240 up front.  He knew my email address but he didn't know how much my original total bill was.  He kept saying, to check his 1-800-531-5000 reference.

Your company is a scam... called this number as a misdial, looking for direct tv repair and was told that Direct TV has a new service plan for $99 and that I couldn't get my service repaired without  paying for this. Never did the representative indicate that they were a separate company. SHAME on you for scamming people

Caller is presenting as Direct TV...another foreign call center rep.  Same thing noted on comment by "Steve in Feb 2016." Let the blocking begin!!

800-831-5000 is a scam. They use DirecTV & AT&T information calling to "cut your bill in half." AT&T & DirecTV would never call you like that. Usually they would ask for some sort of authentication or passcode before proceeding to talk about the account and associated commercial terms. They definitely would not call and ask questions about your account in quiz form, they would already know specifics about your account. Absolute scam.

called my DNC listed number. did not leave a message.

I misdialed Directv phone number, needed tech support. Rudest guy ever. Refused to transfer me until I paid for a warranty. NEVER mentioned he was not Directv. Scam!
