- friend of a customer replies to issy| 1 replyDon't be an [***]. Give them a call back and verify whose account you are on. You probably don't have a security system but if they are calling you a friend or family member placed you on their call list for EMERGENCY situations. Again don't be an [***]

Are you a troll, a preemptive shill, or a combination of the two? - JimPAYes, It's a security monitoring company. (www.selectsecurity.com) A burglar, fire or CO2 alarm went off. YOU ARE ON AN ALARM CALL LIST. Call them back to find out what's up or to get your name off an old call list. This is a LEGITIMATE CALL but more importantly it is an EMERGENCY CALL.
- Caller: no name
- KCThis is a medical alert company. If they called you it's because someone listed you as an emergency contact. Call them back and they will remove your number.
- Caller: medical alert/alarm company
- RyanTo those who say call and tell them to take you off because you are on someone's call list or whatever. I just got a call and they said they were calling in regards to my house on xxxxx street. I told them I don't have a house on that street because I don't even live in TX (being military) or wherever it was the street was. Also, I don't know anyone with a security monitor, let alone someone who lives on that street. I have had my number for 9 years now and no one has me on any emergency security monitoring call list. This is the third time I have had a call from one of these companies about a house I know nothing about.
- Caller: Hall (?) Security
- MicheleGot a call from this number no idea who it is?
- UnknownThey are a Response Center for many different Alarm Companies to include 24/7 & Life Watch and for many Buisnesses which means your number is on someones contact list as an Emergency for Fire, Medical and Burglary. So answer or tell the person who added you to call the Dealer and have your number removed, Emergency Response Teams can not remove your number.

» Your post here will NOT stop the calls. We did not call you. Your caller probably does not read these messages. We cannot block calls to you. We cannot put you on or take you off the list. We do not know who you are, and we do not know your phone number!Click_This_Line_for_Info_About_the_DNC_ListThe National Do Not Call list is respected by legitimate telemarketers, but is ignored by criminal telescammers.
Surveys, charities, political calls, NON-sales calls and certain preexisting business calls are exempt from the DNCL.
Business phones do not qualify for DNCL protection.Click_This_Line_for_Info_About_800Notes_PurposeFind out who is calling and why: Debt collectors, telemarketers, charities, and survey companies often call without leaving a message. Lookup the number to read the previous reports of other users.
Report telemarketing calls: Make the Do Not Call list offenders notice the problem by reporting their practices. No business wants bad publicity.
Report phone fraud: Did someone try to scam you? Reporting the number is the fastest way to make public aware, and prevent others from falling victim to the scam.
Check out a business: Read other users' feedback about the phone number owner.
»YOU are your own best defense against unwanted calls! You can use a call blocking app, device, service or procedure to block such calls.Click_This_Line_for_Methods_to_Block_CallsHere are some tried and true methods for reducing or eliminating repeated spam / scam phone calls:
1. Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail. Many telescammers hang up after three or four rings.
2. If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free call blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.
3. If your cell is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group". Assign the scammer's phone number to that group. Also assign a "silent ring" to that group. You will not hear future calls from that number.
3a. Alternately, assign a "silent ringtone" as the DEFAULT ringtone. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to friends, family, contacts, businesses, etc. That way, you will not hear your phone ring, even if the scammer changes numbers! (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers, so be careful!)
4. For cell phones or landlines: Contact your phone service provider. They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.
5. For landlines: there are several call blocking devices and services available. Use your favorite search engine to find one.
6. DO NOT call unknown numbers back without checking who called (800notes is your friend)! All that does is verify your number is "live". Instead, read this:
