- RaymondScammer called. Like the others, she told me I was having problems with my Windows on my computer. I asked her to please listen but she would have "no part" in that - just kept talking. I let her talk. Finally she asked if I was at my computer. I said "no". She asked me to go to my computer. I said "I can't". She said that this was the only way she could fix the problems and she needed me to go to the computer right now. I told her again that I could not. She finally asked why. (I think these people (?) are a little dense anyway.) I told her "because you called me on my cell phone and I'm not even home. If you had listened to me earlier you would have known that but you couldn't shut your mouth long enough for me to tell you. By the way, you now owe me fifty cents for the call - I charge by the minute" She hung up. I blocked the call. This is a SCAM!!!

- Montana resident| 1 replyDo not call registry is a joke.
- Actually.. replies to Montana resident...the DNC registry only works for legitimate, law-abiding businesses, it doesn't stop scammers and other criminals from calling.

- GraceGot a call on my cell phone while at work. Strong middle eastern accent. First he said he was calling on behalf of technical issues of my computer, and I said my computer is working fine. He said "ma'am I understand that I'm calling about suspicious activity or viruses" and I said "well I rarely use it but when I have it seems just fine to me." There was silence for about 10 seconds and then he hung up.

- Dakota[No, I am not a space monkey: I just got this phone call 20 minutes ago, and I hope it makes ya laugh in the long run. Plus some information on how to trick [***] always lightens the mood!]
Tip, if someone calls you saying there is something wrong with your computer, this is how you politely [***] with them. Also, asking for the make and model of your device (burying the question in with other sentences or questions) gives you a bunch of information about if they are, or are not from Microsoft/Apple: he could not tell me the name of my computer, which I attached to the Microsoft registration information when I got it, and he NEVER used my name. If anything, I hope my post helps future people out with some simple questions if they try to be sneaky with you.
"Hello ma'am! We are calling about your computer! There is something seriously vrong with it! I am Peter!"

It made him laugh and open for a mess up on his end. Then I hit him with this question:* Can you please tell me the make and model of my computer?"
"Vhat? No we are from tech support and want to help you!" < red flag, aaaannnnd he messed up.
"Uh-huh... *vapes and sips coffee* I have not even set up my computer. Peter, is it?"
"Yeah it's Peter."
