Your a freaking idiot and you sound like an abusive controlling trashy unknowledgeable person who never gratuated from high school. Any descent parent knows that kids enjoy answering the phone because it is fun and harmless and discipline has nothing to do with it. I can see you will be one of those people who die alone. Have fun with that you idiot.

Just like Granny of 3 said...stay off the phone and send a cease and desist letter.  Below is a template. No that won't make the debt go away, but it will stop the harrassment. As for the stupid debt collector above, you can't take a tax return check unless you are the IRS! Debt collectors make me sick, calling and harassing me does not make the money tree grow!

    Dear Debt Collector:

Pursuant to my rights under federal debt collection laws, I am requesting that you cease and desist any and all communication with me, as well as my employer, family, friends, and any other entity related to me, in relation to this and all other alleged debts you claim I owe.

You are hereby notified that if you do not comply with this request, I will immediately file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the (Your State) Attorney General’s office. Civil and criminal claims will be pursued.

    Sincerely,

    Cc:    Your State Attorney General

Had a call from this number, called back, asked why they called me.
They said they were looking for a "Wendy" told them i don't know her and that i'm on the do not call list so i don't want them to call me, they said they would get me of the list.

    Time will tell.....

btw, if you have a windows mobile phone you might want to checkout a program like SPB phone suite that allows you to put numbers on a blacklist.
The call will still come trough but will automaticly killed leaving a missed call msg on your phone, might save you some frustration.

YOu can download a free trial here:

Continuously getting calls from this number. Was told they were a collection agency AND would take number off their call list when told the name they're looking for doesn't live here - never has; however, got two more calls DAYS later. Was told AGAIN they would remove # b/c they have the WRONG one, so time will tell.

I have received a phone on answer machine; who ever left a message to give a call back, when left a message, it sound like a treating call to call back within 12 hour. It should not leave like that, you do not know who will hear at the other end of telephone.

What kind of business are they running, this not professional.

well they have all your info so to get money they either sell your info to someone else to get more crap phone calls or junk mail. and since they have all your info what makes these scamming low lives not go out and get a credit card under your name or open a loan. And what major companies sell these [***] your info in the first place without verifying their legitimate credentials.

Been in the telecom industry, I can tell you spoofing is illegal, you can always use other resources to follow thru. You may want to contact The US attorney general, the FCC as well as the FTC. Also if this is interstate you can actually contact the FBI.

Based on the law, they cannot contact you at your place of business. They are only legally able to contact you at your home; you can also send a stop and desist letter via certified mail.

Record their conversation, when you speak to them if you do, many of them have no clue of the law and make drastic mistake threatening people.  They can't make any statements in which they can destroy your credit, call your family, call your work and or tell everybody that you have debts and you do not pay, this is protected by the law. In this case now you have the upper hand, as now they open the door for a lawsuit, you can actually sue the person that called you as well as the company as they are liable for any statement of guaranty that they make, almost any attorney will take this type of cases on contingency. Is an infringement of your rights and punish by law. This people use scare tactics to scare people and even collect many times the same debts that have been paid previously.
The reality is nothing that they can do to you, if you do not or can't pay, they must take you to court and get a judgment against you, and then they need to be able to collect. Of course they must serve you first and have proof of such.
You want to get even, call then day in and day out, to their numbers use redial, and have anybody that you know do the same, do it day in and day out, that will shut down their PBX system, if they do it to you do it to them.
Yes annoying, but effective if hundreds of people do the same and saturate their phone lines.
Let me give you info on some of the worse in the USA.
You also can talk directly to the company that you owe money and make a settlement, in many cases for example let say you owe them 15,000.00 they will settle for much less, also make sure they do not report you to the IRS for the full amount if not you will be force to pay taxes on the portion unpaid,  Make sure they clean your credit if not is no purpose of having a settlement, make sure you get all in writing first
