- ec replies to mike| 1 replyYep. That's the point of bankruptcy. But shysters such as Corbett don't let the law get in their way. (Here's more info Corbett: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/corbett_law.htm )
I suggest you consult your bankruptcy attorney or another consumer law professional regarding the possibility of suing Corbett for fun and profit should he have violated any of your rights. Some links that may be helpful in that regard:

- mikePatrick Corbett is a real attorney, yet practices under another licing company, When they called (Mark Durham)- I asked to speak to the attorney so I could discuss this matter with him, they hung up. I called back 15 times and finally got another person on the phone. I demanded to either speak to the attorney OR get a notarized affidavit via emai, fax or mail, and have now been waiting 48 hours for it to arrive, Funny...the phone calls stopped though., The told me that i owed $700.00 on a $170.00 balance to Cash net..Cash Net will take a settlement-Call them - I can clear it up for pennies on the dollar, Cash Net are not the scumbags here, They helped us when we needed the help, Not some bogus collection agency "attorney"

- BRITTOk so I got a call from a Daniel White at a Patrick Corbett office and they called me one day & said that if they did not hear from me within 24 they were gunna file papers against me, needless to say they called me like a week later & said the same thing. So I called him back & gave him a bank acct info for them to debit the amount that is owed to them.... but after reading all this stuff I am a little nervous now. Does anyone know what's really going on with these people & if they are for real. Are they really even a law firm?

- screwed| 1 replyIgnored all these scumbags calls for two months. (Because what i have read on here!) Well received a summons today in the mail. (i live in Ohio) This sucks. As much as people are saying on here about they are a joke, now i have to miss work to go clear this stupid pay day loan up. Thank goodness they are making pay day loans illegal in Ohio. This 300 dollar loan is now screwing up everything. Do not believe everything you read here. They are filing against these stupid loans!

- MistyI got a call at work (a non-profit organization) from Frank Lewis, and he went on about how he read an article online which one of our members wrote, and he just _loved_ it, and wanted to speak with the author. Then he asked me if I would give him this person's information. I told him no, I would not, but I would be more than happy to get his information and forward it on to our member. He was rather dismayed when I would not give him the information, and it all seemed pretty shady to me, especially when he gave me a "case number."
- Jesse| 1 replyI receive a call on cue every morning at the same time and the calls do not stop, all day long between my home phone and work number. They have threatened and tried to cohearse me into giving them my personal information. *** DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION***
I have asked on numerous occasions to get a physical address and validity of this so called debt and they are unable to comply. These companies have rented local phone numbers as well to get you to answer your phones.
I am still waiting to get served and this has been threatened for over 4 months now. If you request an address and validity of a debt the company has to comply. If they do not or refuse to comply they are breaking a collection law and you would have suit against them.- Caller: Attorney Patrick Corbett

- LaurieThe gal on the other end of my call said she got my name as a reference for my neice, and wanted to know if I could get ahold of her to give her this 1-800 #. She said she was from an investigating fraud department, and needed to have my neice call her back ASAP before they go any further with their investigation. She gave me a case # and this 800 #. However the number that came up on my caller ID was 716-681-3362 and said it was out of New York. I let my neice know about the call and she said to google the #, so I did and here I am. I hope you catch whoever is doing this, and makes them pay for scaring the living crap out of me. I really thought my neice was in some sort of trouble. God Bless

- Sheryl WilliamsThe caller states I'm under fraud investigation but doesn't say for what reason. If it is in reference to a payday loans, I filed bankruptcy 4 years ago and my payday loans were filed under chapter 7. I have not had a payday loan since then. I only left a message and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Since reading these posts I will not be calling back. I hope they catch up with this guy.

- Courtney HurdThey said that they were going to sue me for fraud, nonpayment, and breach of contract, because I took out a payday loan that I thought had already been paid and they said that it had not. Unfortunaltely the bank account that I had used to pay it has been closed. So I don't know if it was or not.

- FMRCalled me today and left a message stating that me or my attorney needed to call them regarding case number 177300. When I asked for something in writing I was advised that I would not be receiving anything and that this matter will be sent to court and he hung up. I called back and asked for an address I was told no. When I asked for a supervisor I was told that Brad Bishop was the supervisor, which I found that hard to believe. We went back and for and I ended up telling Mr Bishop how ignorant he was.

- J. replies to screwedI call BS on this. What they are doing is totally illegal, so what you're mentioning they did is not possible without a breach of United States laws.
- AllieI recieved a call today from Ronald Michaels telling me that I needed to call him back because I was in deep trouble for writing a bad check across state lines. I called him back and left a message but haven't heard back. After reading this I won't be giving him any information and I already filed a police report with my local PD and I also filed a claim with the NY better business buearu and the NY attorney generals office. They all advised don't speak with them and let then know they will hear from them. This should stop the calls. We'll see
