    This # called and said I owed a great deal of money on a credit card I do not have. I told them I never received a bill. He told me when I pay the$100 tonight I would get the bill.  He went on and Id my husband's 1st name and the last part of my ss#.  Said I've had this card for years and used it in May & June.  He went on and listed places I never used a credit card at or even shop there.  Said he was taking me to court if I did not pay by tonight.

    This bozo obviously has the wrong person. Even if he had reached the right person, he couldn't collect a DIME without first validating the debt:

    § 809.  Validation of debts   [15 USC 1692g]

    (a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing --

    (1) the amount of the debt;

    (2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;

    (3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;

    (4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and

    (5) a statement that, upon the consumer's written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

    (b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

    (c) The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer.

    If he calls again, ask for a VALID mailing address in which to send your validation letter. If he refuses, tell him that you are reporting him and his employer(s) to the FTC and your State's Attorney General's office and hang up.

    Called and said he was Mark Lynch from Card Services and that I only had two days left before they would take the matter to a "higher level" and they could no longer help me.  When I returned the call after hours the message said to leave your credit card account number or your social security number.  That is what tipped me off to tell me this was a scam.  I googled the number and found this site.

    My son received a letter. followed by call today from a Kevin from FIA Card Services. They told him they were from Bank of America and he could save 40% bt settling his account. To get started, they wanted $187 by Feb 12 and call 866-424-6015 to make the remaining payment arrangements.  Once he made all payments, he would not receive any further phone calls or letters. I questioned his identity and asked for his number if it was Bank of America and I would call him back. I did not reach this Kevin but spoke to a Mrs. "Troublefield" who could not seem to locate this Kevin. She kept putting me on hold until I hung up.

    Caller claimed to be from Bank of America, said i had to call today to settle a dispute on my account or they would have to take it to the next level.
    The person name who called me was Valerie Williams; she gave the extensions number 29063.
    The big clue to me this was someone fishing for information is that she did not get even part of my name correct.
    I called my banking institution my self and they said there was no problem with my accounts.
    Don't call this number or if they call you, hang up.

    My parents received a message from a woman named Karen.  She claimed to be from Bank of America Card Services and was looking for me.  She said that it was an urgent matter with my account and that if I did not call back it would be escalated.  I called the number that she left (1-800-842-3019) and entered the extension that she left as well (X25649).  When I reached Karen she started asking for my phone number and would not tell me what the matter was until I gave her the information.   When I told her that I would not give any information until she told me why she was calling she got very rude .  I then hung up and called the actual phone number for Bank of America Customer Service on the back of my card.   I talked to Rudy in the Fraud Department and he stated that there was no problem with my account.  I gave him the phone number, extension and name of the woman that had called me and had stated that they are going to investigate the matter.

    Caller from "Bank of America" Credit Card services called my husband's work. Bank of America does not have his work number. My husband called the number, I then got on the phone. The man's name was Wayne. He wouldn't tell me what was wrong with my husband's non-existent credit card, but he had my full name in front of him. I am now worried that if he has my full name, does he have more of my information? What can Bank of America do anyway? Should we call the Better Business Bureau?

    Yes - this is apparently a scam. They called my cell and said they were from Bank of America. They mumbled something about "escalating" my Visa problem. I have no Bank of America accounts - never have.  They asked me for my account # (don't have one), they then asked for my SS# (I then knew it was a scam). I told them I didn't have it in front of me. She said "You don't have it memorized?? ...we'll call you later" and abruptly hung up. My 'legit' bank only asks me to verify the last 4 of my SS#.

    Received a call from 757-533-7007 from "Joe" and was told to call back at 800-842-3019.

    Despite everyone saying this is a scam, it doesn't appear to be. This is a number for "card services" MBNA. He gave me real information on my accounts, saying I owed $162.xx dollars in total on my account, gave me the last 4 digits of my account, and my last payment. I gave him no other information but my name.

    I went and verified everything, and he was completely correct.

    Doesn't sound like a scam to me - I needed to pay them and I had gotten behind.

    I just heard a voicemail from this number.  Thank God for Google and people like you reporting this stuff.  The woman said her name was Rose Marie and that it was very important I returned her call regarding an Antonio Iglesias.  I don't know an Antonio Iglesias first of all and then the place is just called "Card Services".  I called her back and left a message to not call me again or I'd report them to the authorities. Let's see if they try again.

    Received a call from a Rose Marie of Card Services saying that it was a "very, very important call" and referenced a family member's name.  The caller provided an extension no. 29592.  When I called the number a synethized voice asked for my account number and SSAN which, of course, I didn't give it then I left word to call me back in the morning at which time I'll attempt to get as much identifying information about the caller as I can without revealing any of my personal info.  More later . . .

    I received a message at work with instructions to call this number and extension 64975. They said in the message this was a personal business matter.  I don't know who this is or what they are calling for I have no way of knowing what card this is for since they did not identify themselves.  When I called back after hours the messge said either leave credit card account number or ss#.  Is this a scam?  I will not return any info since they are not leaving any info for me

    A person identifying herself as Mrs. Graves called and left a message on my phone which said it was important that I call within 48 hours to handle a serious problem that if not resolved could cause credit problems for the next seven to ten years  The message was to call 1 800 842 3019.  I returned the call the next day but couldn''t reach "Mrs Graves"  A "nice lady"  named Pam asked for my credit card number so she could check the files and find out why I had received the call. Although I questioned why she needed the number, I gave it to her.  She said there was no reason for it as my account was completely current.  I thanked her and hung up, but didn't feel good about it.  I called the number again and spoke with Andrew who put me on hold and checked with"Pam" and that my account was current and not to worry.  I still didn't feel that things were correct so I called the customer service number on the back of my Bank of America card and asked the person to verify that the 800 number I had originally been asked to call was, in fact, a Bank of America number.  He said he couldn't do that, but he connected me with their Fraud Department.  After going through all of the above, a man named Phil said he Googled the number and said it was a fraud and he cancelled my card and will issue a new one to me by mail.  It all sounded so real I am still wondering why I fell for it at first and why I gave out my card number.  Fortunately I had enough doubt to continue to search until I verified that I had been compromised.

    Got a call from 1-800-842-3019 ext. 28882 with a message left by a lady named Cristella (sp?). On the caller ID it showed up as Bank of America. She knew my first name and said that I needed to call her. I did and she could not verify any info with my phone number and then proceeded to ask for my social security number. When I asked the name of her company she stated it was FIA Card Services. She said she needed my full name as she was not sure which account it was and or my social. I promptly told her that I would not give out that info as I had no idea who she was and for all I know it could be a scam. She quickly said have a good day and hung up.

    FIA card service is used by many banks to issue credit cards.  BOA owns FIA card services.  You may not have a card with BOA but u may bank with a financial institution that uses FIA as an issuer of credit cards.
