This number called me 2 days in a row and left no message.  Caller ID says "unknown".  Some have suggested that it's the Navy Federal Credit Union.  Living in N. Alabama, I'm not sure why a credit union that we don't even have in this state keeps pestering me.  Gotta be telemarketing for some reason.  I have never done any bitness with that bank in any way, shape, or form.

This is NOT Navy Federal Credit Union.  Their number begins with "888", NOT "800".  The same number called me and I am currently sitting on hold with the actual Navy Federal Credit Union because this number turned out to be a scammer.

I’ve been with Navy Fed for almost 25 years.  Their phone number is also 1-800-842-6328. I’ve called that number for decades.

The number is Navy Fed ... but its SCAMMERS usually calling you thats why they don’t leave messages.. They use technology to change the caller ID to the Navy Federal number.  They call and pretend to be from the Fraud Dept. They will tell you it’s suspicious activity and lots of fraudulent pending charges in another city. They told me Long Beach, California. They guy mentioned I had not notified them of travel plans. The point is for them to get you to give them your access number. Then they will log into your acct and change your password and while they have you in a panic, have you give them a he confirmation code that Navy Fed texts you. Then start stealing your money. Luckily I knew better and I hung up.

Do not trust the Caller ID!!! If they call you ignore it. If you answer by mistake, hang up and call the bank yourself to check on your account. There are lots of videos about this scam on YouTube. I even get similar calls from the electric company claiming I have a large balance and my acct will be cut off immediately with out an immediate payment. (My actual balance is $0 with the electric company .

Please tell your family and friends not to fall for these scams.

Correction. Navy Federals number is 1-888-842-6328. However if you do quick google search it will show it as 1-800 probably because of people searching due to this scam.

I received a series of text messages saying that they are detecting some fraudulent activity on my account. I’ve never had an account with navy federal or any military branch thanks. The gentleman called me and tried to keep me on hold for a while I just kept hanging up on them. This is probably some fraud

This number called and stated that they were Navy Federal (and the caller ID even showed Navy Federal) and that there were two fraudulent transactions made from my debit card. The timing was impeccable, as I was PCSing across the country and I had to stop for gas at a rather SKETCHY spot (where there was a gentleman there that made me very uncomfortable), and then proceeded to follow the same steps as  Navy Federal does with fraud claims. They put me on "hold" which was really just giving them time to get into my account and add a new account to transfer to . They attempted a cash advance from my credit card into my savings then from my savings into the newly added account. Fortunately, I called the 888 Navy Federal number and was actively on the phone with them when this transfer was happening, so they caught it in action. Navy Federal Fraud department will NEVER ask you for your phone password if they call you. Biggest lesson I learned from this! Navy Federal has a very solid Fraud department!

Do not answer this number!! It's a scam. They say they are from Navy Federal and that there has been fraudulent activity on your account. They are trying to gain access to your account so they can transfer money out. The real Navy Federal is 888

Sent a text stating “ Free Msg - NFCU Fraud Alert - Did you Attempt a Zelle Transfer for the Amount of $500? YES or NO” then again asking about $300 and again asking about $100. I answered “no” and they called 2 times, no voicemail. Third time I answered. They said they were with the Navy Federal Fraud Department. I stated I would call Navy Federal myself and hung up. No further calls.

This number did not call me. However I mis-dialed this number (mistakenly of course..f me for being careless) not knowing that the correct number of Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is 1 888 842 6328, not the 1 800 842 6328.

So these scammers have setup their automatic answering bots exactly as authentic NFCU.
    If you don't believe me dial it yourself. 1 800 842 6328.

Anyway, I ended up talking the "Steven" at the fake NFCU and first thing he asked me was "What is your social security number" and that's when I hang up..sorry Steve we didn't get to say goodbye.

Having said all that...however, this might be the authentic number though when you are the one placing the call to 1 800 842 6328 (not receiving etc).

NFCU should change the way their menu works because their menu actually also asks for account holders' Social Security Number to be typed in when you call the 1 888 842 6328 number to check your balances etc... < which I think is a very very bad design in the first place on NFCU. (NFCU should change a lot of things in my opinion). They must be loosing a lot of money to this 1 800 scam but they are big boys and FDIC insured anyway. So in short, if you want to further investigate, you should dial the 1 800 number instead and don't give them your real numbers and f with them instead and see if they are actually legit. Also there are Trickbots making rounds on the internet again on Bank Websites..so u all be safe.
