vishing/phishing scam  foreign accent asked for personal information

Phishing call.  Foreign accent, claiming to be from Sam’s club, wants personal information.  2 calls from this number today, along with a $750 purchase that I did not authorize.

Same thing here with a $1200 purchase that I did not authorize.

All I could understand was they thought I had placed an order. The caller asked for me by my name. I asked her to slow down so I could understand her. She even called me right back when I said I was hanging up because I could not understand her.

Called at 831pm. I didn’t answer. Called back immediately so I picked up. Very thick foreign accent asking for me by name. Said they were Sams Club confirming my gift card order of 47.80. I applied for a Sams Club CC earlier in the day and got approved AND bought that gift card for my mother in law. They said it would be in my inbox shortly and sure enough it was….seemed weird to me tho.

This # called me to verify my purchase to another state, very thick foreign accent. Didn't give any info and then realized my card was got for 2114 from a Sam's club in that state

Called the day after I made a legitimate Sams purchase and asked for me by name, but did not have the correct price or order details. Thick accent and often paused strangely.

I placed an online order yesterday w/ Sam's Club.  The caller wanted me to verify the purchase, the address to which it was being delivered and the price...Did not give any info!!!
The call came from 800-848-6902

Same as Anonymous 21 Sep 2022 and Kaz 2 Jul 2022. The number called me multiple times asking me to verify a purchase. Like the others, I actually made a purchase online, but this was suspicious so I just hung up. No info given.

Received a call from Sam's Club about 2 hours after making a legitimate online purchase asking for address verification and then hung up.

Placed a legit Sams order online; caller wanted to verify my purchase. Wanted the "city" it would be delivered. Never asked for any numbers - account, price, zip code, nothing!  Called Sams and they said it was not them; called Sam's Credit and they also said it was not them either.

Placed two legitimate Sams Club egiftcard order.  Received two phone calls from this number, caller ID Rachel Wallace, person with foreign accent to verify I had placed the order at Sams Club.  Asked if I had made a gift card order on Sams Club and was I purchasing any services or goods with the gift card?  I think he was supposed to ask if I had made a services or goods purchase.  Did not ask for any personal information so I just told him there was no illegal activity or scam happening and please process the order.  He told me to have a good day.

Got three calls from this number with two voicemails left. Caller had a strong accent. Said they were from Sam’s Club something or other wanting to verify an online purchase. We had just made an online gift card order with Sam’s Club. We picked up the third time they called. Caller had a strong accent, asked to verify the purchase. They had the purchase date, amount and merchandise. They only asked us to verify those details and did not ask for any information. Shortly after that, the e-gift card was emailed.

This just happened to me too!! I called to report

I made an online purchase at Sam's club about 2 hours before the call. The caller did have a thick Indian accent, but only asked to verify the shipping address and the items purchased. He did not ask for any personal information at like SSN, email, etc. When I called the general Sam's Club help desk, the representative also had a thick Indian accent. Since the 800 number knew my purchase info and the shipping address, it may be another branch of Sam's.

Doesn't mean scammers can't spoof the number. That's why the best thing to do is always call the number on the back of your card.

That is true, but they knew what I purchased and the order number associated with it. Again, they did not ask for *any* personal information and were verifying the purchase. Once the call ended, my items shipped and I got an email with my electronic purchase.
