I was called on 4/11/2012 by Keane Unclaimed Property Company...their phone #800-848-8896 used the ext. provided and the claim # the voice mail left. The gentleman spoke with me, but when I started to ask questions about Prudential and if this was a scam. He said they were paid through Prudential and that he would put me through to them directly. The next person was a lady with an India type accent. She wanted knew my grandmother, and her children and that they were all deceased. She wanted me to give her my grandmothers SSN, DOB, & DOD. I told her I was not comfortable with that could she send me paperwork and she said no, she gave me a PO in PA to send this info to.  My scam radar is up...she did give me a phone # to call Prudential 855-277-8061. I asked her what location this phone number was from...some of these numbers are toll numbers from other countries...She said she was sorry but did not know. When I asked what other info she might need she hung up. Be careful!

I just received a call from this number and the voicemail left claims, "there is a life insurance policy unclaimed and at risk of going to the state" for a person who shares my last name but I have no known relation to. She declared she was calling from prudential financial. I googled the number with prudential and got no matches, then jut the number and found this website. I would not have ever bothered to inquire about this because it smelled really fishy and it seems that it the case. Ditto on "be careful".

I've been receiving calls from this lady for a few months now.  The first time I tried to call it back, it went to a survey about a cruise and I hung up.  I tried to contact "Monumental Life Insurance Co" and they said the claim # I have is not one of theirs.  They even searched for the deceased and didn't find him in their database.  She called back again and left the same extension and claim number so I called and left two messages.  Now, I know if she calls me back that it is a scam and I WILL NOT give information of SS# or DOB, DOD over the phone.  Oh, she did also say she sent me something in the mail and was calling to follow up on it but that's probably a lie as well.  BEWARE!!!!

Scam...wasted a lot of time calling John Hancock and the unclaimed properties department in Conneticut, my mother never lived in Conneticut, these bottom feeders look up unclaimed properties and call the relatives.  I am sure they really wanted to talk to my 81 year old father!!! Attorney General or Better Business Bureau needs to be contacted.

They left a message on my answering machine - had a lot of details regarding some unclaimed stock that is still in my mother's name, and even knew my dad's age. Claimed they were from Computershare.
But they gave this number, and obviously they're not who they claim to be.
