got a call on 2/3/11 and i answered but didn't say anything. some dude just goes "HELLO" real loud and then he hung up.

I've been getting calls from this # since January and every time I pick up, they hang up.  When I let it go to voicemail, no message is left. What is the point of this call anyways?  They've already called me 5 times.

I got a call from this number and they left a message: it was Google Adwords calling in response to an inquiry I made about a week ago.

I received a call from this number ten minutes ago.  It was Google Adwords returning a call an employee made with regards to her business.

Got a call but there was no answer. I have made an enquiry to Google adwords recently so that could be it - but why was there no answer?

Today got a call from this number. Only silence when I answered the phone. However we did make a recent inquiry to Google adwords. This is disappointing if an inquiry leads to a silent call. What's reALLY going on?

Caller ID (800) 848-9251. Said they were from Google and were asking how I was using Google Places and that I could possibly be reaching more people with local ads. Blah blah blah

Probably trying to increase their outbound call numbers to keep their managers happy.

Said she was from Google and my company had an ad with them.  She needed to speak with who ever set it up.  I asked her if she knew who that was.  She did not.  She said she had an email for our company and I asked what it was and it was incorrect.

It was a call I was waiting for but was not ID'd on my phone. Google was calling about the Web management class I was interested in attending.

I don't know for sure if it is a real Goolge employee or a scam. Alot of times they just hung up when I answered the phone and it is really annoying. Today I answered the phone, a lady told me that she is from a Goolge employee. She advised me to pay for optimizing my website's Google map. If this is a real Goolge employee, Google is irritating the hell out of the busineses by soliciting phone call.

These aren't from GOOGLE. If they were the # would show on a GOOGLE page in the search results . They are fishing for CC# names e-mails anything from you. Don't be fooled by postings above by JOAN D. who obviously is one of the scam centre cretins. Don't tell them anything. If you have something going with GOOGLE, go to their CORPORATE WEBSITE and contact them through the proper manner.

These people are NOT Google.  SCAM!!!

google adwords sales man. was very pushy and rude. i actually had to tell him to stop being rude, to which we got extremely hostile and i hung up.

It is Google calling to try and sell you additional services. They usually call under the guise that they have "made changes" to your advertising account that you must approve. Don't fall for it! They want you to go log in to your account while they have you on the phone and proceed to give you a 45 minute sales pitch that only ends when you get tired of the BS and hang up on  them.

Besides that, it is not really Google. It is a call center full of telemarketers. Jackalopes!

Got a call from this number and the guy sounded like he was chewing bubble gum while trying to get me to buy Adwords express. Said he was from Google, but I know he was lying. I have several businesses listed under my account for clients and he only saw the one for my business. A real Google rep would have seen all of them.

NOT GOOGLE. Just another web company selling advertising, but they are trying to get your attention by using *Google* Ad-Words and what not. They are not affiliated with Google. I would never give money to a company that cold calls me or anyone else. Block their calls and report to the FCC.

Yes, keep getting similar calls.  I have told them several times to take my name off the list.  Last week, a young woman said I would be removed from Google places unless I talked to her and continued to pay my bill.  When I said I had never paid them a bill she argued with me and said I did.  Since I am a one person company, I think I know to whom I pay bills.  I then remarked that this was just a scam, she got very huffy and said she would have her manager call me -- as if he was going to chastise ME.  REALLY?  I've also gotten two calls saying "this is the last time I'm going to call you and unless you contact me back, you will lose your placement in Google Places?"  Well, so far, I'm still there.  Total scam!
