called me twice in 20 minutes...trying to sell me insurance.  i asked for a quote months ago.  too late....dummies.

I see that most of you are saying that it's a computer calling people.. but I got a live person when I answered. They were looking for an Alissa and that isn't me. So when I told the first lady that she had the wrong number, as soon as I hung up with her, another one called me and asked me if I was Alissa and I said no, again, you people have the wrong number. I haven't gotten a call back since. I don't know if this Alissa girl typed in her number wrong or what, but I hope that I don't get another phone call from these people.

Ok here is the poop...i received an email yesterday from State Farm that reads:

1st off: i never filled out any form, asked for any quote, however this email is thanking me for my interest and they are working on a quote!...REALLY!...and before I knew it, here comes the calls, from 800-850-2792, every hour or so up to 4 times a day...it is so frustrating that the FTC can't do something about this sketchy way these folks do business and better off they can't locate them...how do these people sleep at night knowing what they are doing is so wrong!...and yes I too am on the do not call list...which doesnt always work as intented.

THEY CALLED 8 TIMES IN ONE HOUR AND WOULD NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. JUST KEPT HANGING UP AND CALLING BACK. I WAS WITH A CLIENT AND COULN'T TAKE THE CALL.  I GOT ANGRY.

I've got a block list on my phone but I can't put annoyances like my satellite  on it as I might need their call someday so I put those in my contact list & set the rt to silent.. I see later they called but it's painless this way.

I've got a prepay I keep for emergencies & have never called anyone with it nor have I ever given out the # but since the day I got it, it gets upwards of 25 calls/texts a day from #'s like this.. I've never answered any & the calls usually stop after a few days only to start over with a new #.. I turned the ringer off & ignore it as best I can.. I google the most persistent to see who it is.. Called this number asked them to delete me off their autodialer. Worked for me. Best of luck to you all.

They have called me 4 times today alone. It is so freakin annoying and they didn't leave a message either.

Yes, I requested a car ins quote online. It didn`t change what I am paying now, so I closed the quote. Since then I have received calls daily. Annoying.

That stops the ringing, but they leave messages. So it's still annoying b/c you have to delete voicemails.

Stop calling me.  Please remove my name, telephone number and address from your database and do not call me again!

I never asked for an insurance quote but today I was called every 15 minutes from 7:30-8:30pm for a total of 5 times while I was at work! I thought it was an emergency until I got off and saw it was a 1800 # and no message was left. Good thing there's Google!

They've called 4 times this morning already looking for "James Bolton". They tell me to call 877 845 4886 for a 21st Century insurance quote.
This was happening 6 months ago too--same bogus name. It's like they are recycling old data.


I never leave a number online so am a little perplexed as to why this is happening--but not really. In the grand scheme of things, it's a very minor blip. If it is AIG, though, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on them if they were on fire--just to mix a few metaphors on the subject. It is tiresome to be harassed.
