- ChristineThey left a message asking about a property I don't know, own or have anything to do with, asking if it was vacant or being maintained. Not rude or hostile but weird.

- MaggieA man came to my door asking to take pictures of my house. He was wearing a badge around his neck on a lanyard. The writing on it was small but he said his name was Coviello or Covello. When I asked why he wanted to take pictures of my house, he couldn't give me a good answer and said the pictures were of any damages from Hurricane Sandy storm for the insurance company, then he said it was for the bank/mortgage company.
I was confused asked for more info. He told me I could speak to his boss- He called his office on his cell phone and let me speak to a woman he called Cathy. His phone showed the name Cathy Covello, or Coviello.
She then said it was for FEMA, and then gave me this number for SafeGuard Properties and also in order number.
Everything was vague nothing made very much sense to me, little fishy.
Odd thing is that the guy's name tag around his neck, said Coviello or Covello ... Same as his his boss at the office.!
I didn't allow him to take any pictures and he left in his car, a late model Saab- 4dr Sedan- dark purple/black color.- Caller: Safe Guard Properties

- UnscamableThey hung a card on my front door asking me to call them back ASAP. The card said to be ready to provide my account number with my bank and they expected me to cal them TODAY. I never saw them and they did not knock on my door or my dogs would have gone nuts.

- Rae| 1 replyI found a small white and black sticker on my front door of my house. I had to find a razor blade to starch it off. It s from safeguard properties stating this house is vacant or abandoned and if not I have to call this number and if I don;t they take my house in 3 days. excuse my language but WTF! I couldn't get any info on white pages so I put there number into the do not call registry and in the comments told them it was placed on my front door. These scammers are really getting bold! If anyone has any ideas let me know. My 3 options right now are get a video camera, big German Shepard or a big gun.

My first thought would have been to take a picture of the sticker, then make a police report of trespassing so it is on file. some neighborhoods have police who patrol a little more on a street that has had a recent report of such activities.Quote:If anyone has any ideas let me know.
Second thing to do would be to call your Mortgage company and find out if they know anything about it. - mcdelRobo call from some property service regarding an inspection for a property I do not own
