- SCAM SCAM SCAM| 1 replyPlease be advised that this company is a scam. They are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. They say they are with the Yellow Pages, pressure you into purchasing an ad and saying they are going to put you on TV....Crock of [***]. They are a scam and they don't do what they say. Please do not buy from these people. I found out the owner of the company is Ed Hottinger and he is never there. The place is run by his son Doug and partner Diane Spencer. I called to speak to Diane because I was very unhappy with my advertising and wanted my money back, and you already know what happened. I was never able to speak to Diane and I have been hung up on several times by the person who sold me the ad, which is Patti Ryan...Seriously people this is a scam. Don't don't don't don't fall for this advertising. It is a joke......Signed Killen, Texas resident and business owner

- Pastor KrauseThis group called me, too. Details much the same as above. They called my church to try and sell us Ad space saying we were new to the directory (we've been here for 50 years) and also calling for a "phone book" that is a couple of town away from us. They wanted to feature one church of each denomination and we had been chosen (again, because we are "new"). They also used the word "Yellowbook".

- YellobrixThere are quite a few people/companies running this same scam. Think about it - yellow pages publishers charge hundreds, even thousands in some big markets, for a cover spot on their annual directories. They don't turn around and cut a deal with another company to produce plastic covers that will hide those advertisers message. And, how many people these days are so afraid that their yellow pages might get damaged that they would even go through the trouble of putting a protective cover on it? Do YOU do that? Of course NOT!
They also call from 513-921-6827 and they have multiple websites with differing names. All look cheap/amateurish. All promote website creation & optimization. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!- Call type: Unwanted
- frustrated| 2 repliesThis company represents itself as working with the phone book companies. this is not just misleading is a lie! They sell cheap vinyl covers that should fit the phone book.
We were lead to believe they represented the ATT yellow pages. In addition, that we were buying an ad on the cover of the book. I should have know something was wrong when they changed the offer at the same price to go from the back of the book to the front (someone just canceled and they need to fill the pace; my lucky day). Therefore, we went from being on the cover of 65,000 phone books to being on the cover of 1000 VINYL cover that hopefully, someone will see.
BE Careful when working with this company.
DS - D&D Advertising Enterprises, Inc.| 1 replyD&D Advertising Enterprises, Inc. are the classic peddlers selling snake oil. We have all had the experience of buying something that was too good to be true. D & D Advertising Enterprises, Inc. is no more than snake oil sales people.
They said they worked with the phone book company and that they only needed a two more companies to close the cover our local book. We fell for this line and though what the heck, for a few hundred bucks we will be on the cover of the phone book and thousands of people will see our ad.
They are smart keep the price at a point that you say to yourself I can afford to take a chance on this.
D&D advertising Enterprises, Inc. also has another company called Dads Best Ads. - past employees of D&D Advertising Enterp| 4 repliesChicago — The U.S. Department of Labor is trying to locate workers in the Cincinnati, Middletown, and Dayton, Ohio, area who are owed back wages from their previous employers. D&D Advertising Enterprises inc.
The back wages are owed to employees as a result of violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the federal minimum wage and overtime law. The department's Wage and Hour Division recovered the back wage checks which range from a few dollars to $2,672.
"We are actively trying to locate these workers. Most of them are unaware that they have back wages due them," said Dennis McInerney, director, regional operations.
The Labor Department has attempted to reach workers through the mail and telephone. However, they were not at the last address and telephone number listed with their employers.
Employees will receive their back wages about 30 days after they are located.
Don't work for D&D Advertising Enterprises, inc. - I am a former employee of this company.| 2 repliesI worked as an inside sales rep for this company. It was called D.A.S. Bel Tela when I worked there just a few years ago. When I worked there, my boss Diane Dawson Rebholz, gave us a script to read from and the script thoroughly explained what we were offering, They had a website that even showed the product. Obviously, we were trying to sell this, so I will admit the way it was written is to make it sound better than it truely is. The reason i left this company was that the owner was just a little too wish washy and I felt like I wasnt getting paid fairly. She is an aggresive salesperson but I would not say she's a con artist or anything of that nature. In fact, every person that ordered an as space was faxed a copy of their sample ad and every cover was distributed throughout the city's in which they were promised. I can tell you each person who paid for this service knew what they were getting as we would talk with them several times, they also received the service they paid for. She did mention she was in business for 20 years so I cannot say that she has not made shady deals in the past, but for as long as I worked there, she did what she said she was going to do. For the most part, the people who bought it thinking they were getting an ad on the cover of the phonebook, obviosly did not listen or pay attention. It was made very clear that their ad was to be on a vinyl, 2 color, custom phonebook cover. I remeber that line from the script. She saif the script was trademarked so you could probaly find a copy somewhere. She lives in Alexandria, Ky and her home phone is listed under the name I've given above. Good Luck people!

- Potential victim| 1 replyCalled up wanting us to mail out copies of our newspaper and media kit. Kim Decker, the rep, said that they represent 20-25 businesses for multi-level marketing. She refused to reveal her "client(s)" names. I referred her to our website which has all the info she would need. She pushed. I told her we had been contacted by her agency in the past and that we would not be mailing her anything. She said I was very unreasonable and hung up on me. I suspect it was a ruse call to work our clients.

- Ms Marketing replies to Lori| 3 repliesThis company is STILL at it. Using their scam tactics. Recently in HAWAII. DO NOT FALL FOR THIER SCAM. They call and use the name of your local telephone company to get your attention and to make you think that they are representing your local company. They use the play on words "phone book covers" in stead of "phonebook cover" but over the phone you cannot see the difference in the use of the words.
I have reported them to the FTC as you should. - Unknown| 2 repliesSomeone named Bill Bays called from this number several times asking to speak with the doctor of this practice. Absolutely would not tell me (the office manager) anything, said he had to speak directly with the doctor, and only the doctor regarding the ad in the yellow pages of our local phonebook. The fourth time he called, he finally left this number. Thanks to this, we will not be returning their call.

- Lying & Threatening...Not So Favorable| 2 repliesI have two businesses, and they called me on one of them. The lady Sheri Foyeur (spl) told me they only have two spots left and they'll be gone the next day if I don't take it. She told me she could put me in & I could call and cancel it the next day after I had discussed it with my partner if I wanted to.
The next day I called 4 times but she did not answer, so at the end of the day I left her a nice message saying we were going to cancel. I was very clear about what I wanted & it was definitely Sheri's answering machine. She never called me back.
Just a week later, her sales guy calls me & says he's coming to pick up a check & drop off the cover samples. I told him I called Sheri & cancelled. He said he'd call his company to find out what's going on. Soon after that Sheri called me, very upset. She used a bunch of bad sales tactics on me, like guilting me about how she won't get her commission, and she's a "single mother with three kids". But what got me was how she claimed that she never got my message. I should have known this would happen, but she wouldn't answer her phone, so what could I do? Anyway, I told her I did leave her a message on HER answering machine, and that I had nothing else to say unless she wanted to speak with my partner. She hung up on me & called later, only my partner picked up.
She tried to get him to give her at least something and if we don't, then "REMAX and Coldwell Banker would know about this, and what would they think of you then?" He called her out on that and asked her how they would know about it. She paused & said "Well, I guess I would have to tell them" He told her he promised her nothing but her guy can bring the samples in. This lady lied to me, tried to guilt me and threaten me, and she has absolutely no character.
I don't believe this was a scam, but a poor company with very bad work ethics. Do not buy into it. It's a waste of time and energy.- Caller: D & D Enterprises
