I am a Realtor and have a family member that is a pilot received this call from Gene at 8:37 started to call but thought better google just to find out as much as I can first glad I found this list he can go fly his kite!

I too, just got a call from this number, left a message.. from a "Gene"
Stated that he had gotten my number "from a pilot friend" of his, who said I was a successful realtor in my area, and asking that I call him back.

Got a voice mail of a prerecorded message, seemingly a "phishing expedition"...

I do not do business with people like that...

Same story of being referred by pilot friend; it's happened more than once.  Never returned the call, but this time googled and found similar postings.  Poor Gene, we're on to him!

I also received a call from this same number with the same line.  I too am a realtor and googled the number before I called him back.  Just a gut feeling. Welll looks like my gut was right.

If it's a toll-free number, call back from a pay phone and give a phony name. Chances are they'll pretend they know exactly who you are, and you may be able to get enough information to send them a demand letter (statutory damages, a recorded/robotic telemarketing call is $500).

Got the same call as everyone else. Fact is that I AM a pilot and work in real estate so I wondered how good ole Gene knew that.  Turns oit it is likely coincidence since Gene apparently leaves the same msg for everyone.  Hope his pilot friend takes him for a long flight to somewhere far away from telephone service.

Looks like they are back at it again. Gene called at 7:30 this morning and left a message. I am in Austin, Texas. These calls are all fishy to me so I googled it and found this board. I get so many of the toll free calls that I don't answer. I do searches on all of them, then block them from calling me again. Such a scam!

Received the same call at 8:29 this am (12/15/08).  "Pilot friend referred him to me..."  Thought it might be a salesman's sham, and your responses help put it to rest for me.  Thank you...

I received the same identical call myself at just before 8:30 EST.
"Gene Perry here. I was referred by a pilot friend..." I am a Florida Realtor. I do not do business this way so he can just go find his pilot buddy and fly off some where fast.

It's 8:30 and I just received a call from a friend of a pilot. . . you know the rest.

He's still at it. I'm glad I checked with Google about this number.

Just had a message from this Gene, said to call him back sounded like he was in a hurry and needed a call back right away. Glad I GOOGLED the number , won't waste my time! Thanks

Got the same call from 'Gene' regarding me being a succesful and to call him back. SCAM!

I recieved same call yesturday, left message.  Apparantly it is a scam but what is the scam?

Not sure how anyone can be calling from this number as its been our fax number for over 5 years, and its impossible anyone is using it. So anyone saying they got a call from that number is lying. It does not call out. It use to be for some advertising signs in restrooms before we bought it, though there is NO way on earth anyone has been calling from this number since 2008.
