I don't know who is using this number, but they call me often and I don't want to answer this toll free number.

This number is listed on my Caller ID. I don't answer calls that don't tell me WHO is calling.

IT IS ECC --- A COLLECTION AGENCY

I was called by this company, 1-800-864-5999 @ my Business Location. They had an Automated Operator on there that asked for someone. (Not me)  I hung up the phone not thinking twice, I get alot of calls from Telemarketers /sigh

Then I get the call to my cell, Which might not be so Strange if it wasnt in a differnt state and differnt name. Im on a family members Shared plan. This is my personal cell, so NO ONE but friends and family. That number has never been given out for business or publicly.

when I questioned them they refused to give me there Business name, address, or even what business they worked at. They kept asking for my personal information. I gave them only the phone numbers they called, they did not even have matching names like they did for they were asking for. So it lead my suspicion to reporting them.

I will be filling out a police Report.

CLAIME THEY ARE TRING TO COLLECT MONEY OWED

Computer caller left a voicemail message on my wife's cell phone.  Stated they were from Eastern Collections Corp.  Gave an account number and the times to call back.  My wife's cell phone number is never given to anyone other than family and friends.  I have registered our phone numbers with the DO NOT CALL registry.  I will not be returning their phone call.  I will be looking into my wife's credit report to make sure there is not fraud activity.

I have also been getting these phone calls, on my personal cell phone, for the past 2 weeks or so. I did not answer since I didn't recognize the number. I have no idea how they would have gotten my number. An automated system finally left a message a couple days ago, telling me the company name, and that they were trying to collect a debt. They me an account number, telling me, by name, to call back. Needless to say I have been worried about this, since I don't owe any debt to any company.  
I immediately checked my credit report online, and everything seemed to be in order. I am going to alert my cell phone company about this number, and I will not be calling the 'company' back. As to what further steps I take, I don't really know at this point.

For the past week or so I've also been getting phone calls and my credit is in very good condition, I don't have any late payments or bad debt.  How do I stop these annoying calls?

The phone number is for Eastern Collection Corp (ECC) located in New York.  They contacted me about a late payment on a subscription that could no longer be automatically withdrawn from my debit card (the exp date had changed).  It wasn't anything I would have been able to check on my credit report (unless I ignore the collection agency in the end), and had nothing to do with my credit cards.  I'll pay the bill, but I'm more upset that the subscription company didn't bother to contact me first.  I will not be subscribing through them again.

I have been receiving letters and calls from this company on my personal cell phone which I never give out.

I received this called from 1-800-864-5999 who I do not know. So how to I stop receiving this call, thanks

Started rec'ing calls from 800-864-5999 Loking for someone that didn't live
here. Recorded message states if not (so an so) plz hang up.
My wife has done this many times. They continue to call.
As of today I registered a complain with the FCC
They  are check out this company @ this time

I just got a call from them tonight.  Computer generated asking for Jim, if I was not Jim to hang up.  Anything "official" would ask for James.  Is there a web page I can go into and put the account number they gave me to see who they claim to be collecting?

Calling me for 2 books that Time Life Co. supposedly sent out in 2004 & 2005. The only problem is that I have not subscribed to Time since 2003 and have not received books. The woman said that the bill of $68 will go on my credit report by Friday 11-30, if I don't pay over the phone. I felt she was trying to get credit card info over the phone to scam me and I wonder if the place is even legit. All kinds of crooks out at the holidays, trying to get cc info. I received a letter today January 4 2008, stating that they were collecting for a book that I ordered , I sent payment out on Dec 3 2007, so I called and told the women that I sent out the payment and have the check stub , I gave her the check number and the date it was sent out,  but that's about it, she said that I would have to fax over to her my bank statement , she said to fax it to me personally my name is Miss Diamond. I said to myself , self this doesn't seem right. so she gave me the fax number which is 631-563-2471. But the company that I bought the book from never sent me any notices. These people out there in the world want to ripoff other people for money , instead of going to work on there own. I guess this is easier. :(

OMG! This company is horrible! They call me 4 or 5 times a day and Im at work so dont answer their calls. I finally was able to call them back today and they are trying to collect a debt for Schoolastic Book Clubs which has already been paid and was cancelled over a year ago! The person wanted all of my information over the phone and refused to send me a bill stating who they were and what I owed, so needless to say there is something just not right about them.

I've blocked this number with my call screening.  Unless they send me a bill that clearly states WHAT and WHO I owe, they get no response.

I have been receiving this call practically everynight after 7 PM. When I answer there is nothing. No response, no recorded message and no human on the other end. It does no good to list this number on Do Not Call, because they don't keep them from calling. I don't owe for any kind of book since my husband has a libary in our home, we don't need to buy books from people who are so ashamed of themselves that they can't even leave a name. It is always listed as unknown. Maybe someone should tell them who they are since they are so ignorant they don't know.
