Keeps calling at all hours.  Very annoying.  I called the other day and got a bit rude with whomever it was that answered the phone and this morning I got a call back regarding "a very serious claim."  I guess SIMM associates is the phone courtesy police, too.

They called me and asked if I'd put a note on my neighbor's door to call them! I don't know my neighbor and when I asked how they got my name/number, they said they did an address search and saw I was a neighbor. I will NOT deliver the message to my neighbor. Collectors are getting sneaky and their tactics are unacceptable!

I recieved a call from them, the lady told me she was working on a project with my husband's neice, but couldn't get ahold of her.  She needed to speak with her before she could finsih.  Then she gave me an 800 number which made me suspicious.

They called adn told my son that they are working on an investigation that I'm involved with..the man's name was Joe Gibbs ( wasn't he the coach of the redskins anyway?). MY son was startled and asked if this was a police matter and Mr. Gibbs said " it could be".
(It was regarding an old hospital bill.)

Got a phone call in work saying they were calling for an employee and the employee told them to contact me at work. Used the name Martha Mason Associates and left the phone number 800-864-6033. Did a google search and the name of the company is SIMM Associates. Collection agency

a person named mike patterson called my home asking to speak with a person that does not live here. my answering machine message is generic and does not disclose our name. they left very personal information for the other person without knowing who would receive the message. that can't be legal describing the type of message being left without knowing for sure if they have the correct party.

RCVD VOICE MAIL MSG AT WORK.  STATED IT WOULD BE IN MY BEST LEGAL INTEREST TO CALL THIS # TO VERIFY INFORMATION BY 5PM TODAY OR ELSE.  DID NOT SAY WHAT IT WAS REGARDING.  STATED I MUST CALL BY 5PM OR ELSE.

SIMM Assoc. is just another run-of-the-mill sweatshop, full of people who can't get real jobs. Most of the tactics described are illegal, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act--with the exception of contacting "nearbys" or neighbors, as long as the collector doesn't disclose that he/she is calling from a collection agency. They use Coles directories, and various reverse search methods to get your number. If your number is published, you're at risk of receiving the call. It's really annoying, and besides--who calls neighbors EXCEPT for bill collectors? Just ignore them, and they will eventually stop calling you (you can also write them and demand that they no longer contact you because you're not the person they're hunting).

Got phone calls at my direct line at work from Michelle, saying they were looking for this person Howard, or Round, regarding "a package" sent to their office. Told them that this is an office and not to call again, yet she still did and harrast me. She left me messages with 1-800 number and I googled it turned out to be Simm Associates, Collection Agency. Here's a message for them: DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN AT WORK, the person you're calling is not in that number,, any other important matter should be addressed in a regular mail.

Called and left me a nasty message stating a legal claim and that I needed to call immediately. After a search I see it is just a stupid collection agency. I feel much better now. The message made me feel like I did something illegal and needed a lawyer. I won't be calling them back.

These people are calling me at work and harrassing me even though I have told them I can not have personal phone calls. I guess if I get fired then SIMM Associates can pay my wages!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called for someone else. I tried to explain they had the wrong number and they HUNG UP on me!  They call all the time. I did finally get thru to someone that was relatively human. They assure me I my number has been removed. I doubt it.

I GOT A CALL AT WORK STATING THEY HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT ME SEVERAL TIMES BY MAIL. I TOLD THEM I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY MAIL FROM THEM ..HE SAID IT WAS REGARDING A CREDIT CARD.  HE GAVE ME THE LAST FOUR NUMBERS OF THE CARD AND I SAID THAT IS NOT MINE, HE THEN PRECEEDED TO ASK ME FOR THE NUMBER I HAD ON MY CARD...I ASKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE NUMBER TO CALL HIM BACK..AFTER 15 MINUTES HE FINALLY GAVE ME THIS NUMBER....HE WAS RUDE AND KEPT SAYING HE WAS GOING TO FILE SOME KIND OF SOMETHING A RATHER CLAIM ON ME...HE GOT ANGRY WHEN I GOT ANGRY BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE NUMBER AND I WOULD NOT GIVE HIM MY CARD NUMBER THAT DID NOT MATCH THE LAST FOUR NUMBER OF THE ONE HE WAS CALLING ME ON. WHEN I ASKED HIM TO REMAIL ME A BILL HE SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME BUT HE COULD FAX ME ONE.

If you tell them to stop calling you at work and they continue to do so, that is harrassment and they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you should report them.  Each violation costs them at least $11,000.00, so they will get the message.

just got a call with voicemail with this # and urgent time sensitive it said in message - made me sound like I was in real legal trouble

I just googled it and now I know who they are.

MY WIFE WAS RECIEVEING HARRASSING CALLS FROM SOME GUY NAMED ROBERT FINE  THIS GUY TRIED TELLING ME HE WAS AN EX MARINE  FIRST OF ALL WHAT KIND OF RESPECTABLE MARINE IS GOING TO RETIRE AND BECOME A SCUMBAG DEBT COLLECTOR  THIS GUY WAS A COMPLETE JOKE  TRIED TELLING MY WIFE HE HAD PAPERS COMING TO HER DOOR THE NEXT DAY IF THIS WASNT PAID  WELL MR FINE I NEVER RECIEVED ANY PAPERS   THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM  DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME  THEY WILL NEVER TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ANYONE  DONT BE A SUCKER AND PAY THEM....

Well, it's only $1000 per violation. That would also include the 'legal' threats unless they do/can take someone to court as another violation. Make sure you record the call.
