i keep getting calls from an unidentified company trying to collect a debt for someone else.  i have told them before to take my number off their list but to no avail.  today i called and was put on hold til it finally sent me to a message box.  i told them in as vulgar terms as i could muster to quit calling.  if not for having told them at least twice before to correct their database i would have been civil.  i also told them i am filing a report with the AGs office if they call again.  the only trouble is they have yet to identify themselves.  how can i find out who is behind these calls?

i forgot to mention that the number calling me is 800-870-1426.

They left me a message seems it's from St.Mary's Regional Medical Center Billing Office in Lewiston, Maine.

you can tel them to stop calling all you want.... it is NOT against the law to call ANYONE.... they are not harassing or threatening in any way...... you can kindly ask then to stop....

You could ask them to stop and they can send your account to collections. Call them and pay your bill!

I have received many calls from this number, so many in fact I have been writing down the date and time that they call and do not leave a message. My cell phone records their phone #, as well as the call date and time.

One really odd thing I noticed, is that the calls always come when I am out of town for some reason? What the heck? Anyone else notice this or is this just a strange coincidence?

St Mary's calls me all the time and then I call the accounting dept to find that my balance is zero, as it is in my records. In one week, I received a bill, an amended bill, a statement with a 0 balance, two notifications that I could sign up for help from Firstsource, a call from Firstsource, and a debt collector call from St Mary's Hospital.

St Mary's Hospital accounting department is an absolute mess, why don't you people fix your accounting systems before you just assume people aren't paying? Not to mention are you trying to kill a forest will all of these notifications?
