    Bogus Apple Help Line
I received a safari alert. And a pop-up which wouldn't close. It asks me to call this number. It kept popping on in safari. I restarted my phone and then went to safari and quickly selected another website so the popup wouldnt come up.
This is just a scam. This is not from apple so don't fall for it.

Wife got the pop up, she called.  Same MO said they were from Apple.  Unfortunately when they asked for control of the computer she gave it to them.   All my ebay account info came up.   They tried selling her some type of security software. thank god she did not bite on that.  But he left this # and his name (Rishad Soni, spelled phenetically) just icase she changed her mind.     When I got home I called Apple they confirmed it was not them.  They said to wipe outthe history on the computer and go in and change any passwords that were ever used thru and or stored that computer.
Moral make it a habit to wipout history on a regular basis and never let the computer remember your PW.

Once she gave control of the computer they could have installed rootkits, keyloggers, who knows what.
The sale of security software was just extra money for them.
A compromised computer is valuable to criminals.
Basically you need to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the factory software.

Like the people who thought they were dealing with Apple, I was scammed into think I was talking to yahoo.  These people have bogus numbers all over the place and are appear to be affiliated with computer repair & services, inc as a third party to purportedly fix by remote computers etc.  But what they do is tell you something is not right with your computer and they need to get in remotely to fix it.  Once there they show all kinds of files flying by and at the end it shows hackers from Russia and new york.  They were so slick and had their gamedown so good I bit hook line and sinker and paid $199 yet I could see no evidence of any protecton.  They say it's encrypted.  no read me file.  no programs and features.  I knew i'd been had and stopped payment on my mastercard and did everyother thing that the geek squad did to the tune of 100$  Be aware that any company my have their customer support phone comprimised.  They really sound legit so be extra careful

Do not pay those thieves anything.  If your account is locked, look at this link from yahoo,
