Wife received two different calls. She did not answer but, voice mail received the message, "This is Nueces County Jail. An inmate is calling. To accept the collect call, press ____." I did some research and this is a scam. Period. Nueces County Jail is near Corpus Christi, Tx. On one site, the 800 number showed up to be in Hungary. The company listed as owning the number since 06/30/04 is ;RCN'. Now, a scam that has been going on for years: An inmate will call you and try to get to get you to call someone for him/her, giving you some sad, sob story. They'll give you a set of numbers to call. Most likely, the first few will activate call forwarding on your line, which will then let them use your number to call a buddy of theirs  ANYWHERE they want. You'll get the bill later and, if you were dumb enough to do this, you'll be crying when you have to fight with the phone company to reverse the charges. Also, there is something called "spoofing" these days, which let's someone use a fake number to call your phone. They call from one number but, another number actually shows up on your caller ID. Be smart people. If you don't know.............don't answer. And, sure as heck, don't press ANY numbers!
