The NCO folks are scavenger debt collectors. They buy very old debt pennies off the dollar in hopes the person who had owed the debt would pay all or some of it.
My wife was not fiscally responsible prior to meeting me. So she made some bad decisions and now after 10 years of marriage these buzzards started calling about two debts she owed.
I sent the 'Drop Dead' letter from ClarkHoward web site and they stopped - That's because they were all passed my state's statute of limitation.
What I have noticed though that their claims are most likely invalid and past the statute of limitation.

A waste of my time and all they do is frustrate my wife and I.

When they tell you it's personal whisper and tell them you promise you won't tell.. Or if you are not in the mood to string them along just tell them If it's a personal business matter they should be calling the person they are personally doing business with. Or tell them to call the crisis hotline in their area that you are not equip to handle their situation and wish them the best in handling there personal problems.

Called asking for a combination of my daughters first name and my married last name. I said who is calling they said Monica (something) and I said what is this about? The said oh well this is a personal business matter. I said well my daughter is underage. They said well this girl is over age. I said then you have the wrong number. They said oh you don't know this person? I said no and they hung up.

Tired of their calls. Everyday, 2 or 3 times per day. Just forwarded their number, along with a few other pests to another bottom feeder.

I recieved a call from this number today but I did not answer in time so when I tried to call them from a payphone, I got an automated voice telling me how to get texting by texting them.   I DON'T WANT TEXTING AND DON'T WANT TO TEXT ANYONE!!  I'm sick and tired of someone calling my MINUTE phone that I pay for BY THE MINUTE!!  They're using up my minutes and when I get low on minutes and I'm trying to preserve my minutes, they call and use those minutes up.  I have to answer because I have people that I might allow to have my number and if and when they call me, I don't have THEIR name in my phone to recognize the number...so I have to answer incase it's one of THOSE people trying to call me.  I'm about to contact the FCC and PESTER THEM UNTILL THEY "DO" SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

Received a call from this number and much like the Yellowpages Online scam that is going around they are immediately requesting personal information. Just never say yes or they will edit your conversation to sign you up for something and harass you more. I've seen several scams like this so be careful.

I recieve calls from these folks several times a day.  This continues even though that the debt they are saying I owe has been taken care of directly with the company in question.  Furthermore, these calls are always recordings or someone for whom english is a second language who asks me to hold the line.  
Ummm nope.  
Not happening.

Received a call from this number, but the prerecorded message said it was from Transworld debt collectors. I am wondering if NCO is changing names or branching out.

Received a call from 800 877 4127 with a message stating that we owed a debt - When calling this number, the person would not give the name of the company unless we gave a birthdate - Said they had mailed a letter to us but not to our mailing address, I then asked what is the address that you sent this collection letter to.  She just kept saying we have sent a collection letter out numerous times and I can't give you that address we sent it to.  I said listen you called me, verify who the bill is from and what this is about and I will verify with you my information.  Sorry Maam - I can't give you any information without your birthdate.  I said have a nice day and hung up.

Also when they call the original number came through as 719-225-4878.

People are just BS, when you know you do not have any outstanding debts or are late on anything.  Karma.... will get them in the end.
