- KarynI missed a call from this number. When I called it back, it was answered by an automated system saying it was America's hottest talk line. I've never subscribed to a dating service, etc. Not sure how they got my number. I've blocked them.

- LoganI am 13 and was home alone when I receive a phone call for this number. When I answer a thick Indian accent answers asking if my mom was there (he said her name), to which I said "she's busy" and he said she was eligible for medical compensation. Then he started asking my name and how old I was, and I said i didn't feel comfortable telling this information, to which he got mad and said he knows where I live and he'd come in my window to hurt/rape me.

- Slim replies to MelissaModern technology has given telespammers the tools to call you.
Lawbreaking telescammers ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocking device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information. There are available apps (some free) for smart phones, and services and devices for landlines.
If you cannot use or afford such a tool, then click on the "Alternate Methods" button, below:
[spoiler=Alternate Methods]
• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service. Telespammers usually hang up after 3 or 4 rings.
• Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number, and make it more valuable to more spam groups! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete. If the incoming call was important, they would have left a message!
• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scam" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group. (This also works for smartphones). The spammer will usually hang up before the phone goes to voicemail.
• Another option, for cell phones: Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers. That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact! You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number! (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers).

- sickofthemThick accent Indian male asked for my maiden name. I told him wrong number. He spoke to someone else in another language and then he asked if I wanted him to come to my door so he could give me his [***] (he said it like tennis so it sounded like pennis). When I asked him if he was saying [***], he said, "Yes, now you are getting me". I told him to never call back again. These people call me all the time, probably every day. He called from 800-877-6767
- garanshelI just received a call from this number. I just pushed speaker on my phone...silence on the other end and they hung up. I do not understand how all of these people can get away with this. They call my home phone practically every day. Blocking does no good with most of them because they will use a different number to show on our caller ID. Some have gone so far as to use my name and number(looks like I am calling myself) and the same happens to my mother. This is all against the law, yet we cannot seem to do anything about it.
