this phone number is a scam!!!!!!!! an indian guy pretend to be a duke power agent and call my restaurant and say hes name was jason smith with foreign english accent said on the phone call if i dont call in the next 45 minutes he will come and cut power in the restaurant so i call duke power they confirm my suspicious about the phone call because i know very well i already pay my bill be awere of scam they make you  call back and give you credit card number so you get rip off dont give any personal information to people try to still your money in your credit card is scammmm!!!!!!!!! thanks

Yes; this number is a scam, for sure. I manage a hotel in the Catawba Valley area of NC, falling under Duke Energy's influence. The caller referred to himself as Lewis Garcia (with heavily accented English easily hailing from India or Pakistan). He attempted to convince me of an outstanding balance and that they would be disconnecting power within 45 minutes (WTH?) if I did not provide him with payment information immediately. Whatever, dude.

I am a residential home owner and just received the call. Came from a 1-800-700-8744 number. Told me to call the 1-800-877-8436 number within 40 minutes or they were coming out to shut off my power. I ended up hanging up on him and he continued to call me back 4 more times but I would not answer the phone. Idiots!

If you get a call contact Duke Energy they are keeping information in their business office about this scam and want to see which types of places they are calling. They think I am the first residential call they have on file for this scam.
