- Wayne replies to C GIlsonTechnically no it is illegal to harrass you too. By tpca and fdca .they can only ask you to past the call on but cant reveal her information. And if they are robo calls it js illegal to call ones cell phone doing that or autmated messages and they could face a fine from 500 to 1500.
- D Boyce| 3 repliesRobocall about once a month, saying that I urgently need to call Nissan Motor Acceptance corporation. I have called them back twice, and the first time they said there is no reason that I should have been contacted. However the 2nd time they said it could be because I paid off my loan but never went to get my tiltle fom the DMV, which is in fact the case. (To be safe, I only gave them my Nissan acct number, not my Social Security - although the number seems legitimate since they had my loan info)

- Tygerkat replies to D Boyce| 2 repliesI thought you got your title when you first get the vehicle, not when you pay off your loan? And if I'm wrong, why wouldn't Nissan leave a message stating why you need to contact them?
- MikeHuntleton replies to Tygerkat| 1 reply
Most Dealerships hold the Titles until its paid off and stamp a lien paid mark so you can sell it. They stamp the Lien mark so people can't go to DMV and try getting a replacement Title and sell it before its been paid off.Quote:I thought you got your title when you first get the vehicle, not when you pay off your loan?
Most companies simply send you a debt paid letter (with the stamped Title) and don't care if you go to DMV, so I don't know what that call was about. You don't need to do anything with the Title unless your selling it or putting it in someone else's name. DMV Rules vary from State to State, so check with yours to see if theres any requirement to have a Title changed or picked up after a Lien is satisfied.Quote:D Boyce:

- A. C. replies to C GIlson| 2 repliesI supposedly co- signed for my Granddaughter. After many calls they finally gave her the papers. They had me down as the main buyer and had forged my name on one of the papers. Now, after many times of being told to call her because she makes the payments, they blow up my phone when she gets one day late. I mean five or six times a day.
- Lewis Silfes replies to A. C.If the contract was forged then it is not a valid contract. You should be taking action regarding that because every late payment will affect your credit as well. They have every legal right to call you since you are allowing this fraud to go unpunished.
- Tygerkat replies to A. C.Why would they forge your name? Perhaps it was your granddaughter who did? Either way, Lewis is right - you need to take action on this situation.
- Nissan OwnerBEWARE! I answered this number once and they said they were from NMAC. They asked for my social security number and I refused to give it to them. He got very nasty with me after I told him he called me and NMAC already has my info. When I told him to tell me what he has he really got nasty so I told him to stop calling and he said they will continue to call until I talk to them and answer their questions and he hung up. It stopped for about 3 months and now it's starting again
This number keeps calling, and calling, and calling. They leave the same message everytime welcoming me to the Nissan family. I'm really sick of them filling up my mailbox with the same message so I don't get important messages. I finally called it back to tell them to stop calling me and I got a recording. After listening to the music it said transferring to the fraud/loss prevention department and I hung up. I blocked them so I wont know or be bothered when they call but I'll see the message notification so at least I can just delete it.- Caller: Pretending to be Nissan Motors Acceptance Corp.
