- Annoyed| 33 repliesA man called me and said he was from Apex Company (or Apex something). He said I had been chosen to recieve a free $1000 internet shopping spree and 3 day vacation package for customer affiliation month because I am a customer of thier affiliate. He also stated it was not a sales call and I did not have to buy anything. But to get my free gift I had to pay $1.95 shipping costs. I declined to accept the gift. He tried to make me feel bad "You don't have $1.95 for a free gift? How old are you?". When I refused to play along he started threatening me..."If you don't accept this we will call you every day. You will get lots of phone calls every day." I told him I'd hang up and report them to Better Business Bureau. Then he hung up on me.

- also annoyed| 3 repliesi never answer any number that does not show up in my "phone-book" however this number has already called me twice today and at least one other time. Never leaving a voice mail just means i wont call you back lol. i have no idea who or what company the number is linked to because i dont answer...im only posting to validate the fact that this number is spamming people.
- I wanted to jump through the phoneThis number has called my home several times. I was home one morning when the phone rang and picked up. It was a man that I could barely understand and I interrupted him and asked "is this a sales call". He replied very bluntly, "no, it's not", so I gave it back to him (the attitude) and said, "what do you want." He hung up on me. Today I got two more calls from the same number, but wasn't home to answer them. I tried to call the number and it says, "this number cannot be dialed from you phone." what a crock of bull.
- Mark replies to Annoyed| 5 repliesHi, I was reading your comments about an 800 # that was a false # trying to sell something. I don't know if it's the same that I received a call from, but the reason I started trying to find out is that when I call the # back, it says it can't be reached from my local calling area. The # is 800-888-7890, is this the same as your unwanted call? Thanks for your help in advance.

- KristenI got three calls from this number today, but didn't answer any of them. Sounds like I didn't miss anything important. Once they left a voice mail, but it didn't say anything. There was some noise in the background and then they hung up after about 3 seconds.

- TravisI got a call about a week and a half ago. The arabian man said he was with the US goverment and that I had been selected to recieve $2500. He explained why but made no since, all he needed was my routing and acount numbers to deposit the money. I of coarse objected. He kept pushing and pushing, calling me an idiot why dont i want free money? Finally he said goto hell.
I was so shocked then he kept saying it and told me off pretty good. Eventually i hung up. Knowing he called from a private number there was nowthing I could do, except laugh and wonder???????//
Well 2 days ago at 8:27pm 10/23/07 i recieved a call from 1800 888 7890.
I new as soon as he spoke it was the same guy, except this time he said he was with Apex company and that i won my shopping spree online and
vacation. All he needed was my routing number and account number for the 1.95 shipping fee. I again objected and to confirm his identity he tod me to goto hell and continued to cus me out. I pretended to change my mind and told him i will pay the 2 dollars and he said what bank? I told him it bank of a america, he search and replied there is no bank of america in your state so i hung up. The conversation lasted about 17 minutes.
So considering we have all had the call and we have our own assumptions on why he is collecting funds, WHAT can we do?
I called my local police and they told to contact the attorney general for my state. Then i called the FBI and explained myself and they told to contact the usps inspector and i got nowhere with them. So i stared researching myself.
I have found that this 800 number is owned by a company called prime-tel and is leased or rented to another company. So i tried to research prime-tel and got nowhere(prime-tel communications) there web site has no links quite odd, visit it yourselves. I have a close friend in the telecommunications relm that has been helping me with my research. He can look up phone numbers and see activity such as a new company just got a new number but cant tell what company. He found that this number was purchased in 1999 and there was no activity until 10/10/07. He cant see what type of activity but sees that there has been some type of change.
If i new the I.T. guy for bank of amerrica i could confirm that somebody accessed there site at a specific time and date and what ip address, then track that ip. Obviously the ip would have changed by now but where was that ip address? Even if i knew where, even if i knew who, or if i knew how, Who do i tell.
We all know its about time for another attact on our soil, lord knows we have been attacking theres. But how are they funding there attacts?
I have called the FBI 3 times now and havent got a call or visit from anyone asking questions, what if tomorrow is to late?
I say we all investigate as much as we can and use this site to communicate with one another.- Caller: apex and us government

I thought i was going to win a free xbox and filled out
humpteen surveys.
This guy new my number and mailing address. - Unhappy RecipientThis number calls me everyday and it very annoying. I recieve harassing noises or a prank. I would like to have this caller reported to the police.
- TravisI honestly think it is terosist collectong money,
homeland security dosnt think so they just told me to
to contact the better business burough. - Profanity and insultsI received a phone call from this number on my cell phone. The man stated he was working for Apex and conducting a survey. I asked him if he was authorized to call cell phones. He said he was authorized to call any number. I then told him that he needed to remove my number from their call list and not to call me again. He said that if I hung up, he would call me many more times. I said “no, you don’t understand, I said don’t call me anymore”. He then said “listen here you stupid sh*t” and continued with a barrage of profanity and insults. Needless to say I gave the same level of profanity and insults right back to the man. Our verbal altercation lasted at least 15 minutes with profanity and insults back and forth. This guy even said he would find out where I live and “do things” to my wife. I have never been so angry on the phone. I wanted to seriously hurt this guy. After all this, the guy asked me to forgive him because he was just joking and he said that I was a nice guy.
I tried to call the number back but all I get is a busy signal. How is it legal that someone can call my house or cell phone, but I can’t call them back to complain???- Caller: Pretended to be with "Apex"
- crosshairs on the foreignerJust got a call from this [***]. Claimed to be from "Apex Services" and that I'd won a $1000 shopping spree and a 3 day vacation. Definitely sounded both Arabic and stupid so I went off on him right away. Asked where he was calling from and he said "Las Vegas Nevada". I said "well then put an American on the phone so I can tell them to [***] off!" and he hung up. Unlike some of the other experiences listed on this page, this son of a [***] obviously didn't have any balls because he didn't say boo to me once I started in on him. *69 provided the number 800-888-7890, which I immediately called and got a message saying the number was not in service.

- Luke replies to Annoyed| 2 repliesI got a call saying the exact same thing so I told him I wasn't interested in it and then hung up. He called back 30 seconds later so my wife answered. She also explained that we weren't interested. So he called her a Mother F'er. So I got on and asked what he said he let me have it with all the English cuss words he knew. These idiotic outsourced call centers in India are becoming problematic. Can't we put our names on a no call list of some sort? Let me know if you can.
- LukeCalled at dinner time of course and cussed me out. Obviously a native Hindi speaker
- skichic 50Hi, I too received this 8:58 am MST.on 10/23 I answer most calls as you can keep your telephone # . I don't have a land line and now have a cell only (but kept the #) I can only assume my # was taken from the internet. We run a small biz from our # that's why I kept it since some custmers have called me for 20 years. Anyway, got the sales pitch of winning stopped the hindi voice and stated right away that I was on the do not call list. We no longer pay to publish our # with Dex Media. Therefore, supposedly I can be on the do not call list. EXCEPT non profits are allowed to call do not call list #'s it just other fo profits that can't. I still assume the internet. The caller bascially got angry everytime I said to take my name& number off the list as we were on the do not call list. Told me I shouldn't get so angry. It's a scam, perhaps with terrorist links? The internet sources where my number is publish is vast, local newspaper ads, Colorado Secretary of State page etc. Otherwise you can't find our #. You would have to be looking for it hard with our name. It's quite suspcious.

- JohnThis number has called my wife's cell phone repeatedly the last 4 days. You cannot understand them, and when my wife tells them she is not interested, they continue to prattle. Something needs to be done about this blatant harassment. I also tried to call back, and the number just 'fails' every time. We have decided not to answer from that number again. It's a shame when you have to re-arrange your life because of harassing phone calls!

- SeamasThis guy called my girlfriend several times and said he loved her and was looking for her and even gave an old family address of her's. He's now threatening her! This guy must be in India, huh? He just called again right now! Does anyone have more information on this nut-job? If so, please do let me know at: kingseamas@hotmail.com. I'd love to track him down...
