- Savannab| 1 replyThis number called me and I was in the middle of a chem class. Long story short I burnt my partners hand. WHO IS THIS.
- BobWe are receiving many 1-800-888-9616 and 9616 calls on our cell phone. We are older, thinking that we have an important call will try to make an older persons "dash" for the phone. I realize that is is dangerous but we have people who should have access to us without the problem's of these menacing calls that could cause us to injure ourselves!
- Caller: electronic dialed, I believe
- JdubJust received a call from this partial...only a partial voice mail message was left. Something about "we care about you". The beginning of the message was cut off.
- awake| 1 replyThey "were" calling from 1-800-888-9610 and got shut down. They then began calling from 1-800-888-9611 and got shut down again. Now they are calling from 1-800-888-9617. It never ends! I have talked to a lawyer and have filed a police report on a different phone number recently (harassment charges so as to take them to court and sue their sorry [***]) that called me repeatedly so now I see they are scamming from a new number after two older ones were shut down already (FCC?) really pisses me off. "Everyone" needs to go to the local police and file charges (make a report of harassment crime) at the very least. The police will get so overwhelmed perhaps the Judicial System will finally wake up and do something. "Maybe".... but we must try for others sake.
- Caller: Caribbean cruise line scam
- Call type: Telemarketer

- jg replies to awakeI got this call today and have had it before. The message is to log onto Verizon @ vz.103.com....no such site...to get $103.00 credit on your verizon account. That is not even verizon's website. I'm sure it is a scam.

- Joe2 missed calls from this number so far today. No message left. Can't say for sure whether or not it's a scam but if they can't leave a message it's not important. A few more calls and the number is getting blocked.
- DaphneThese people are NOT Verizon Wireless. Whoever they are they have called and called me from 1-800-888-9611. During this rounds and rounds of calls they said they were Verizon and that there was $394 on my statement that had not been paid, as a scam trying to get someone to fall for the idea they were in arrears for whatever reason. Once you either gave them your personal information, or clicked on a phony "Verizon" website....your personal information was pretty much toast as far as idenitity theft.
Verizon knew about this scam and were said to be working on tracking these people down to put the kabosh on this scam.
Now I have them calling from this 1-800-888-9617 and I believe that these people are the same people who tried to scam similiar to the above. The only thing is the "Verizon" story is different in that they were "Verizon" and they had a $100 gift card for me. I hung up on the then as soon as I heard "Verizon" and another amount of money scam.
Do NOT give these people any personal information, it truly isn't Verizon and if they give you a website link to click on through text message, DON'T click on the link. Once you do all your personal information on your computer goes straight to these people and their scamming.
Someone on the first round at the first 800# made a suggestion to go into your call history or your recent calls on your smart phone and DELETE these calls out of your phone. They have a way of making your phone busy after you've picked up the call....then they were calling me sometimes ringing my phone and sometimes calling with on my phone ringing. When I read the suggestion about deleting past calls from these numbers, it made a big difference and for about a week or two stopped these phone calls from coming.- Caller: NOT VERIZON
- Call type: Prank
- LanaDon't know. Says it's Verizon
- SusanHow do we stop it
