I got a new cell number because this # was calling me nonstop. I gave the number to no one. I only made a call using the phone with the new# to my cell company. That means cell companies are giving out phone numbers. Early this morning i got the call. It says unknown. They asked me to call back. It's a debt collector

Or, the person who had your number, was receiving calls from Comenity.  Now you know why they dumped the number.

A woman with a very heavy accent calls me asking for my Husbands ex wife.  She says she is from Comenity Bank with a very important business matter.  Not me and I don't want her calls.

The number was provided as a call-back number. I hesitated to call back due to all the "spam" listings, but it was actually legit. It's Comenity Bank and they collect on various credit accounts (Victoria's Secret, Avenue, etc.). I had opened an in-store account to receive a promo, and the girl apparently put in my address incorrectly so I never received the bill, nor did I receive the delinquent notices. (I can't believe the post office didn't deliver, as it was my name, with the last digit a "5" instead of "8". Shrug. I'm glad I got it handled......but this number is INDEED LEGIT.
