This number (1-800-890-6025) is not Monitronics but a company in Kansas called Merland Wheeler (I may not have the correct spelling of Merland) that collects for Monitronics, Inc. of the Dallas, TX area. This information was given to me by a customer service agent for Monitronics when I called Monitronics to complain about being contacted by the "collection agency" despite having a zero balance on my account.

The Merland Wheeler agent told me that she was calling for Monitronics. She called me on my cellular phone while previous calls from Monitronics had been made to my home phone. After some prying and after she told me that my cellular phone number was the only one she had, I found out that she wasn't calling from Monitronics but from what she described as "a third party" from Kansas; I knew that Monitronics was in the Dallas area. When I said that, in my opinion, her company was a collection agency, she said, "You can call it that if you want to."

I received the same type of call. I'm NOW on the phone wih Monitronics, informing them o this type of calls....!

I'm staying at Lone Mountain apartments in Las Vegas

according to our service provider who works with monitronics these calls are for  a sheriffs call due to a security alert on our system. Funny thing is we have no evidence of a "sheriff" coming to our house- they would leave a card if we were not home and also we are in the city so we would not have a sheriff come to our house but the police, who would also leave a card. contact your service provider to get this rectified, sounds like they can randomly charge houses with out having to provide evidence. we never saw a cop or card of any kind

i just woke up not to long ago, and they left a voice mail  saying there looking for my dad. why didn't they call him then?

There are about 3 times that the person let a message in my cellular phone saying is from "monitronic" and when I called, there are not response from that number.

If that's not from Monitronic, they need to send an alert to all their customers saying that.

I have contacted Monitronic, this company that is calling is a third party that take the accounts that got a late charge for more than 30 days and call to collect the payment.

In my case, the expiration date of my credit card was wrongly wrote and the payments were overdue, I was not taking care of that because the card was in charge of the payment but for the mistake, Monitronic was not receiving the payments due to the incorrect date for the card.

If you are receiving a call from that number, check your account, you got payments open in your account for more than 30 days.

I get 4 0r 5 calls from this number a week.  Another call from Platinum Protection/Monotronics.  This company is a scam and a rip off.

This is a collection agency. Berlin Wheeler co. located at 2942 S.W. Wanamaker Rd. Suite 2B Topeka Kansas 66603. They are a third party collector for Monitronics in Topeka.They can be a problem if you let them.
