From yesterday afternoon, a girl named Ms. Yang started to call our home phone number, saying that she represented Dish Network We were told that they were going to send us a new receiver of Dish Network Program. Today she called in again,kept asking for our SS#. Her reason was that each SS# get a receiver. We began to sense something was wrong. sowe refused to give out our SS#s. Then we started to call a phone number left in our CID. It was a family number and not for business use. Nobody knew who was Ms. Yang. Then we tried  a toll free number 1-600-895-6047, found out that this number had nothing to do with Dish Network.

I received a same phone call today. The lady now is called Molly Feng. She was saying the same thing. But she had wrong info of me. When I asked her to mail a letter stating what is Dishnetwork's intent about this call, she said she was not sure if the mail can get to my house, then offered me a fax. Then she said she would need a person in the house and SSN, Credit card etc. I become suspicious immediately. I believed this is some kind of scam.
I did not have call id, so I didn't know her number. I bet she was from the same 626 number, though she claimed she was calling from San Francisco.

I had some problem since last weekend. two ladies keep calling my house about receiver update. they said they are from directv since we told them we are directv customer. it's crazy! they asked for ssn#, address, etc.  common sense, if you are from that company, why you need my info again? it's already on file!!!

A woman named Ms. Chan called the first time and said she didn't speak English then hung up. The next time, in Chinese she wanted to give us deals as an agent for Dish Network. The caller ID was blocked but this was the number she gave us. She asked for the whole SSN, TWO phone numbers, address and credit card. She said she was not calling from Dish Network, and merely an agent. We'll see. If you're really affiliated with Dish Network and contacted people through their phone number, doesn't that  mean you have the info on them already? What's the use of getting the full SSN?

So they did come and give us the Dish Network channels. Not a scam. We'll see if anything else happens.

I received the same call from molly feng claiming to represent dish network. she gave me (800) 578-7836 but it had nothing to do with dish network. X, did anything else happen afterward? thanks.
