- GlemdaI receive calls from this number at least 4 times a day. Sometimes I get one and another one as close as 10 minutes after. I don't answer them anymore but it is very annoying. No message on my answering machine just daily harassment from the phone number. Wish it would stop. I called the number on a different phone to find out who it is. Phone says scam likely as soon as I dialed. Got a real person stating Penn credit. Said wrong number and hung up. Does anybody know if they will remove from the call list if you talk to them and demand it ????
- Caller: Penn credit
- jerryI have been getting this insane calls for 5 years. They ask for somebody but it it very difficult to hear the name, seems to be done on purpose, the rest of message you can understand. I am going to try my State representitive maybe they can do somethng
- Karen replies to Di| 1 replyNever say yes on the telephone to anyone you don't know! They can somehow cut and paste your voice and claim that you said yes to some contract, Etc.! I don't know who you could call and report this to, maybe a non-emergency local police number? Good luck!
- Mike-in-MD replies to KarenFirst, the "Don't say yes" is an urban myth with no known cases ever reported showing anyone was ever scammed by answering yes to simple questions. Second, this is a debt collector or more likely a criminal posing as one and the local police will just tell you the calls are a scam and to ignore them. The proper places to report them is the FTC, the CFPB and your state's Attorney General.
- Sally replies to TOOTOO68I have call blocker have them on it still calling
- LD| 1 replyPenn Credit. Will not tell you what the call is about. I have NO credit issues whatsoever, so I have no idea why they are calling. I am NOT in the habit of providing ANY information unless I know who/what I am dealing with. They need to be SHUT DOWN immediately!!!
- Caller: Penn Credit

- BigA replies to LDSince the solution to your problem has been posted multiple times in this thread I have to wonder why you haven't read and then used that information to stop the calls?
- Balinda Finlay| 2 repliesWe keep getting call from this # 800-900-1370. They do not leave message and I am getting really tired of this BS.
- Caller: Penn Cr
- BigA replies to Balinda Finlay| 1 replyWell, you can whine and complain about the calls and do nothing to stop them. Or you can actually take action to make them stop. The latter requires you to do something other than nothing to improve you life. Your choice.
You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.
PENN CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS ALSO GOES BY PENN CREDIT CORPORATION.
Alternate Business names: C.C.C., CENTRAL CREDIT CONTROL, DEGARCIA, DONALD C. DONAGHER, JR.
They are known to be rude (especially someone named Jennifer who lies as well), and to attempt to collect debts after they were asked to validate them but did not.
Their web page with mailing addresses (these addresses are good): https://penncredit.com/contact
BBB page gives them an accredited B+ rating (reduced from the previous A-) with 182 complaints and 27 negative reviews as of 10/25/19 BBB has now assigned them an accredited A+ rating with no complaints and no reviews. How is that possible? When they had 182 complaints and 27 negative reviews a little over a year ago. This is simply proof that the BBB is a worthless, corrupt organization. It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Yun linThey want to talk to someone else other than me when they called my number. And said the call is being recorded.

- Becky| 1 replyThey called me today asking for my ex-husband. Told them we’ve been divorced 30 years. They apologized and said they would remove my number. Easy…
- Caller: Penn Credit
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to BeckyOnly if they truly did, which you don't know for sure whether the calls will stop or not. After all if you have been divorced for 30 years there was no reason for them to call you in the first place. I'm thinking that you might actually be a shill for this outfit though because experience has proven that this is a criminal enterprise that breaks the law repeatedly.
- Sue MillerUnsolicited call . Because I did not recognize the number, I hung up before they could leave a msg.
If it is a collection agency, it is harassment since I have no outstanding debts. - ellen andrewsthey keep calling mu number but I have no debt.

- Sue MillerUnsolicited call from debt collector. I don't owe anyone any $$$. Harrassment.

- KR replies to bob gamboIt would be a better world if trolls withheld their (uninformed) opinions and judgements.
Do you know the largest predictor of (credit) “financial responsibility?”
Income. That’s it.
Put in simplest terms, poor people have bad credit because they’re poor and wealthy people have good credit because they’re not. Studies across the board show it has nothing to do with responsibility and everything to do with need.
What do you want to bet the author or this comment has no concept of need? Is perhaps lacking in self awareness?
