I just received a call from 800-900-1370, and asked for me and I asked what this was regarding, they said that it is personal business.  I told the person they were looking was not home. I do not give out personal business over the telephone.  I just got scammed five months ago out of $180.00.

Keep getting calls for Corey Nelson.....who I do not know.  Says he gave this number.  It's a collection agency that has pre-recorded calls on the weekends but calls in person during the week.  I have told them repeatedly that this is not his phone numbers.  They say they'll update their records, butt the calls continue.  Who do I file a complaint with?  I am on the DNC registry.

The call is from Penn Credit ...they are usually trying to collect on traffic tickets unpaid from another State that you do not live in.
Those States will list on a credit bureau ..problem with all of this is, that if you pay Penn Credit, you will still have to pay again to the State where you have your infraction.
I still do not understand how Penn Credit gets by with this.

I finally returned their phone call today (my brother said they have been calling for me for months at my mothers house and leaving messages) Before I called them, I looked up the number and came to this website.  After reading some of the comments I thought 'Oooh I better call them.  I know I don't owe any money and maybe it's a simple matter to clear up." I called them and come to find out it was for a moving violation that my husband got while driving my car (registered to my moms house).  I know it was my husband because he works in the city (a small city) from which the violation was recieved, even though I never recieved anything in the mail from the city.  I told them that my husband would go to the City Hall of that city and pay the ticket direct (just in case this is a scam).  The lady I spoke to was actually quite nice and said that paying the city directly was fine.  Problem solved...for now (fingers crossed).  My advice to some of you is that you may want to talk to these folks.  You could have a moving violation taken by one of those pesky cameras and not know it, as in my husbands case.  And being on the National Do Not Call Registry will not stop a company from calling if they are collecting on a debt.  Even if it is a debt you may not be aware of.  Yes, Big Brother stinks!

If indeed this number belongs to a debt collection company, to Penn Credit, let it be known from the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/illegal-debt-collection-practices.html):

    •call you repeatedly, or
•place telephone calls to you without identifying the caller as a bill collector

Based on the myriad comments here and elsewhere, I'd say if this is a legitimate company, they can have their pants sued off for violation of both of these verboten practices alone. They call numerous time a day, during the whole week, oftentimes, minutes apart The call comes up as "Toll-Free," not the business's name I blocked them long ago, but they persist. Call and report them to your State's Attorney General. And the FTC. There is recourse if they fail to abide by the very specific and clear rules of do's and don'ts. "...to protect yourself from harassment, but if a collector violates one of these laws, you may be able to: use the violation to negotiate a better settlement, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), or sue the collector." I say, let's sue. They are bugging the living crap out of me.

I just received a call from someone named "Chloe" who sounded as if she was pinching her nose in an attempt to disguise her identity. I said "Hello" twice before she finally said something.  Which told me right away it was either a sales call or some "debt collector".  When I asked who is this and what do you want, she kept repeating her name (I guess her memory is bad) so I hung up.   Au revoir Chloe ;)

Have been getting phone called from this number for years.  They always call during the day while I am at work.  They always asked for someone that I never heard of.  Never bother to call back, but it's annoying to get the voice message from this number so often.

I moved to PA and got a new number, and these guys have been calling me literally two to three times a day, every day, for almost two months now.   When I pick up, I just get dead air.  My new number is on the Do Not Call Registry, and now I only get calls from this number and one where the Caller ID says "Summer Promotion."

This number calls all the time...I usually don't answer but this time I did and said we are on the Do Not Call Registry...there is never anyone on the other line....

Someone needs to put a stop to these types of call.  If we are on the Registry then why are we still getting these calls.

Called the number...spoke to Laura..she gave me 2 names that she was looking for and I told her that we have had this number for 48 years and no one by those names have ever lived here.  I told her we are on the DO Not Call list and to remove our number today.  She said she would so I will see if we get more calls.  I think she said it was Ten Credit Service but not sure.

This number has been calling my house, land line, for about a month now, usually in the day, about every other day.  The recorded message asks for some one I have never heard of, and then prompts me to enter a number if that person can't come to the phone.  It is ridiculous.  There is no prompt for me to enter for that person not living here.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry.  How can I stop this?  Thanks for any help.

Constant calls/hang ups.  I'm running out of room on my Call Block.  The Do Not Call Registry doesn't seem to be doing any of us any good.

Just out of curiosity,  what is it that you think the DNC should be doing for you?

Report a phone call from 800-900-1370:

The company that called you.
