Several calls at 15 to 20 minute intervals came to my office desk phone.  Each time I answered and there was no response.  After 18-20 seconds the caller disconnected silently.  I suspect it could be from Home Depot since I had requested a call back for a problem and have not heard from them.

I too was expecting a return call from Home Depot.  When I answered it was disconnected.

Whenever I get a call from an 800 #  I always answer.."This is Detective Patterson, how can I help you"  Then if they give me any static I tell them I am calling from an active crime scene, and the number they called is that of the dead person, and how did they get this number.  I saw this once on a youtube video and it was AWESOME!!!..you can drag it out and really have fun..but you cannot snicker or laugh..as hard as it is.

I've been receiving calls to my personal cell phone number from people all over the country looking for Home Depot.  I have called Home Depot and asked them to figure out why my personal number seems to be given out to the public.  They stated that they could not find any record of this happening.  
I have had the same number for almost 12 years now, and have only recently been receiving these calls for the last year.  A few people have called looking to verify employment or check the status of an order.
I have to tell everyone that they mis-dialed the number.  Please, please, PLEASE Home Depot, figure this out and fix it!  If you want to pay me to take your calls that is one thing, but get this taken care of now.

I too called Home Depot today and requested a call back so I wouldn't have to wait 6 minutes for a service rep.  So far I have received 2 calls with no one on the other end.  I have put the number on my Reject Calls list for my phone.  Hopefully they don't pass numbers on to other entities.

I just received a call from home depot from this number on my private cell and the person said she was looking for a John Mitchell. Well I don't know anyone named John Mitchell and I asked her why she would be calling my private number and she responded that my number was listed as the referral number this John Mitchell. Interesting....ugh hope they don't call back.

So just just received two calls from this number and after reading these comments everyone keeps saying that it's supposed to be Home Depot calling back with call back assists. The weird thing is... I work for homedepot.com as a customer service rep and I obviously didn't call in requesting them to call me back... So... Riddle me that!

Same thing with me. I'm also a rep and they called me.

I just placed an order a couple of hours ago so I don't know if the voice mail and number that they left saying they are home depot order verification is true or not.  My caller idea did not list home deport which I would think a big company would not be anonymous.  I left my name and number for them to call back so we shall see.  My order was for 55.00 and yet an order last week for 1300.00 did not get a phone call.

Called home depot and they said they always said an order confirmation and a shipping confirmation but don't verify orders.  They are as concerned as I am.  I just don't know how they got my order number.  I suspect perhaps when I call back they will ask for personal information such as a credit card.

gentleman called asked if I was Melissa dodd I said who is this and he said that there was a ups package delivered to the home depot and wants to know why it was signed by me?? I said I have no clue what he was talking about then I transferred him to the manager and I asked her if they talked to the person and they said no...called back the number and no answer,,the company is called apac Tucson east

Did not recognize the number so I did not pick up.

It's the Home Decorators company, my wife ordered a bench from there in january, the item was advertised all over the net, but it was back ordered and they new that, so i cancelled it, they just called to say they processed it. It'll be ok to answer assuming you ordered something from www.homedecorators.com

This was a legit number for Home Depot for me.
Had to get a refund processed.

The 1st call, there was a delay when I answered, so I hung up. They turned right around and called back. This time the gentleman was on the line for me. The customer we had shipped to apparently got the wrong tracking # and was worried that his order was being shipped to the wrong address. I gave the Home Depot rep the correct tracking # and all was well.

We are a supplier for Home Depot & This was a legit call.

I've done to. I answer, "FBI, Internal Affairs. Badge number please?" which is usually followed by a fast <<click!>>

Got a call on a previous HD problem.  Caller Anthony 53820 resolved the problem. WHEN I DIDN'T HEAR BACK OR RECEIVED MY CREDIT WAS NEVER ANSWERED WHEN RETURNING CALL???

Received the call 12/8/15 stating they were Home Depot confirming a delivery to a different state from which I reside. They asked for me to confirm my home address. I punched up my bank account and saw two fraudulent charges on my credit card. Called the bank, and sure enough, the card was hacked and they did their thing.

This was a follow up call from Home Depot that I requested.
