It is a recording, sometimes a man, sometimes a woman.  They ask if this is "hugo vargas" and if it is to press 9.  Then they leave this number to have "hugo vargas" call back.  I have never met anyone by that name.  They call at least 3 times a week.

Man or woman call with Computer insert of my name. They say to call back the 18009182295 number, however when you do, you will get an irate 18yr old kid telling you off. This is before he knows who is on the other end of the phone. My question is if this were debt collection, wouldn't you want to know whom you were speaking with first, then give an attitude? Class act!

We get a call almost everyday from this number, too.  It's so annoying.
When you return a call, you only get that the number cannot be connected as dialed.  I'm not sure who's calling from this number.
    Help!

They keep calling almost three times a day everyday, looking for somebody named "Tammy"/"Tame"/"Tommy" Richter who we don't know and not residing anywhere near.  They ask to return call to this number and when you dial, all you get is that you're number cannot be connected as dialed.  Sometimes, the caller ID will show this number or "Unavailable".  It's very inconvenient,
eating up our time or our answering machine's space.

Who is making these calls?  They should be jailed!

I also received a call and it was a recording.  The recording said to call this number if we are not the person they are asking for.  I called and asked, "who am I speaking with and the company he represents."  He replied with his first name but not the company name and then asked me for my name.  I did not give it to him and asked again for the company name and he asked me again for my name. I did not give it to him, so he said I'm not answering 50 questions.

By law they are suppose to give you that information so you can send them a registered letter to cease their calls.  By not giving you their name and address they are breaking the law.  I am investigating who they are so I can report them to the Texas Attorney General's Office.  If anyone find out, please post it here so everyone else can do the same--report it to their Attorney General and send them the letter.  You can sue them if they continue after they receive the letter.

This company calls my phone at least three times everyday, whenever I actually answer it, someone hangs up.  When I dont, I get the same message asking for a return call.  When I call it back, I am placed on hold and no ones why they are calling me.

About three weeks ago, I began to receive three phone calls daily from this number.  Once my answering machine picks up, the message from a man follows with this message:  "This is CPC trying to reach Brandon Carson.  If this is not Brandon Carson, hang up otherwise we will record this information for collection purposes and it will be used against you".  It then leaves the same number listed on this website (1-800-918-2295).

Recently, I was at home when one of the calls came in and I picked up.  A woman answered and I asked her very nicely to stop calling my number for there was no Brandon Carson at this residence.  She asked for my name and number and my reply was "You called me, don't you already have this number?".  The line cut and I did not call CPC back.

Two days ago, CPC called around 6:45 p.m. while I was at home again and I picked up but it disconnected.  This time, I called the number and a man answered this time.  I told him that I did not want CPC calling my number anymore and I was getting tired of the harassing calls and again said that there was no Brandon Carson at this number.  Again, I was asked for my name and number.  I asked him for his name and he became very very rude and starting shouting that he was going to hang up on me if i persisted in asking questions.  I then became angry and asked to speak to a Supervisor.  He said I am the Supervisor.  I asked again what his name was and he shouted Steve and then he threatened to hang up on me and not help me if I did not give him my name and number.  So, I hung up on him instead.

I am going to report these calls to the Texas Attorney Generals office but decided to see if there was any information about this company on-line and I came across this website.

I hope that the Texas Attorney Generals office can do something about this situation.

His name is Dan! So he claims. I asked to speak w/ a supervisor, which of course he claimed to be that too.  They're cluttering up my answering machine! I called the number back and he answered and he told me "not to waste my energy that he had removed my number from his list" (while laughing). This is an outrage -- especially since we specifically pay for a "private"  number. I've contacted my phone co. and they suggest that I put an official complaint w/ the FCC @ fcc.com since these callers are not asking for me or anyone in my household.

I also receive 3-4 calls from this number every day.  I contacted my state's attorney general's office and an official there called the number and CPC (a debt collection agency) asked for her name and number and she told them that they were calling the wrong person, gave them my number and the person from CPC said that my name would be removed from the call list.  Of course the attorney general's phone number was not blocked so CPC knew who was calling.  The official from the AG's office said she can't guarentee they won't call again, but I'm hoping they won't.  I'm to contact her if they call anymore.  Apparently, these collection agencies call anyone they find with the name of the person who owes money hoping to reach the right one. It is so annoying.  Hope this helps.

My answering machine has pcked up several calls a day from Stewart Griffin at cpc 800-918-2295. " By not answering this call, I am agreeing that I am so-and-so and have a debt." I have never answered this call as this phone is basically used for just such calls.

CPC, they're a collection firm.  I called them back and they said they'd not call me.  We'll see how well that works.

Complaints should go to fcc.gov  not fcc.com. I receive many of these calls weekly and am annoyed also.

    Ridiculous!

I am receiving the same types of calls as everyone else who has posted thus far.  They are asking for a woman named Diana Almanza.  We have no idea who she is, but we know that she hasn't used this number for at least 2 years, because that is approximately how long we have had it.  I finally called them back to have my number removed, and when I wouldn't give the gentleman my name (I don't need my name associated with this woman's file), he asked me why he should believe that I wasn't Diana if I was unwilling to give him my name.  I told him he didn't have to believe me; he could call the telephone company and find out who the number was registered to.  To this, he responded, "We'll call you later, Diana." and then hung up on me.  Furious, I called back, explained the situation that had just occured, and asked for the company name.  The gentleman I spoke with this time responded by saying they were a collection agency.  I said I would like to know what the actual company name was, and his response was MARX MORGAN (perhaps MARKS MORGAN).  When probing for more information, he interuppted me and said he had work to do, as if I was wasting his time ... what about all of my time that has been wasted by these ridiculous phone calls. Anyway, I tried searching for the company (Marx/Marks Morgan) and couldn't find anything relevant.  I hope someone can figure out where these calls are coming from and get them stopped.

These people have been calling my house many times day in and day out.
I dont know who these are. When they call it's computerized. But, however, they did have my name correct. I do not owe anyone money. Meaning i'm not in debt. These people are getting on my nerves! seriously. I do not know what they want or how they got my number. but it's starting to piss me the [***] off...

My cell phone rang one night around 8:15pm and I did not recognize the number therefore I did not answer it. Within two minutes the house line rang and the caller ID indicated "CPC" with the number (952)-215-3684 that showed up on the cell phone CID. The message left on the voice-mail was a recording stating that this was a message for (my actual name inserted into the recorded message)and to press "9" immediately, and it repeated it several times. while listening to it I started to google the number and found this site. I guess I'm not alone. I am not calling it back and will update the National "Do Not Call" register with these numbers.
