just got a call showing this on the caller ID saying I was to get $60 off my Verizon bill, provided a web address that was blocked by my virus detector. Called the number back from a separate and secure land line and was Nebraska Hospital Assoc. number.

Got a call from 1800922000 today and have no idea how they got my number - I use a tracfone.  When I tried to call the number back from my landline - the call would not go through.  Am not about to call them back from my tracfone after reading the info at this site.

This is a scam, I just also just got a call from this number no message, but after reading these posts, I thought I would share that I work for a cell phone company and what we are seeing is people that answer these calls give their Verizon account information to these scammers and in a matter of minutes, the Verizon account is hacked, new devices are placed on the lines, and international calls are being made from the new phones on the account.  I have seen people with bills over $1000, because of the international calls.  Not sure why the scammers are using this to make international calls, besides to get out of paying for them themselves, but just thought I would share, since I have helped at least 5 people in the last 2 weeks that have had this happen to them!! DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION to them! Verizon doesn't offer special credits like this, nor will they call you and ask for your information!!

While I agree that this is probably a scam, I have indeed gotten legitimate credits from Verizon that I thought were fishy sounding. When in Doubt, contact your carrier, (in this case Verizon) and they verified that the offer I had received (a $20/month credit towards my Data usage) was from their marketing department.

Short story long - When in doubt, contact the vendor directly at a trusted number (like on your statement) and ask them to verify the information. If it is indeed legitimate, they should be fine with you verifying that fact.

Verizon reported record breaking success in Q4 2013. Clearly this wasn't used to help with these types of issues. This blog is over a year old and they can't block a single number from calling.

When you ask them what they're doing about it they "assure you they take these matters seriously". Bull!!

Husband just got a call from this number right after I just received a call from another scammer from a different 855 number. I'm called Barclay credit card and mine was a scam. They claimed I had fraudulent activity on a card I do not have and this was all automated. Wanted me to enter my credit card number in order to speak to a live operator. Pretty sophisticated.
800 922-0000 number left no voice mail but I could only assume it had to be a scam as well. I posted this to let people know the number is still being used.
As for Barclay. I actually call there actual number and they add this number to there list of scams. 855 956-0445 scam

You are correct, it is a scam.
Unfortunately, Verizon can't do much about it, since THEY are not initiating the calls, and the Caller IDs that you see can be faked, and can change.

    Educational post:
You may have been exposed to scam #22, as described here:
    http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts_rev.html

Remember to return here, to 800notes.com, after you look at any of the information at that site, either to post more information, or to let us know you avoided the scam, or to read any further information about that number that others may post.
