I just got one from this # and the recorded male voice said" Verizon customer, your phone service has been suspended. Press____ to talk to a representative". I hung up. if my service was suspended, how could I pick up the call?

Robo scam saying they are from Verizon. Fist of all if you're account is suspended you wouldn't receive any calls and when you tried to make a call you're phone would say no service. When you push 1 on this phishing scam they try to get your info.

Actually, Verizon would still be able to call you, no one else would be able to though.  It is always best to simple check with them directly.  I believe that either # or * 611 will get through to the directly, not sure what symbol to use first though, and yes, using that number even if you are suspended you will be able to contact their billing department.

Call went straight to voicemail.  Called at 9:26 pm, Saturday, January 19, 2019 (what legit business calls at this time on a weekend???).  Automated voice said it was Verizon and that my account was suspended.  Reply to the vm msg or call a certain # back to unsuspend.  Texted several friends without a problem and they responded OK.  Called a friend and went through.  Suspected this was a scam.  My account is current and no messages or warning left for me when I logged in.  Stupid scammers.
