did not recognize the number, blocked it.....to answer an unknown number only puts you on a "pester" list

Yesterday afternoon (21 August 2014) my wife answered a voice call on her Verizon cell phone announcing that she had received some kind of a credit for about $16 on our account. I don't know what else was said, but she did not give out any information. Checking later on her phone, I determined that the call came from 800-922-0204. When I contacted Verizon via live chat on their website last evening, they confirmed that it was likely a phishing attempt and stated that they would never originate such a call, because any credit would merely show up on our billing statement. When I did a web search this morning, I discovered that Verizon's toll-free number is actually 800-922-0201, very close to the number being used by the one used by the phisher.

Scammer. Didn't answer so they left a message. robocall saying we had an 18 dollar credit with verizon and to log into our account at verizon18.com. Interesting thing is, we don't have an account with verizon.

Just received a call from 800-922-0201 on my cell phone- it was a robocall stating my Verizon account has been deactivated for non payment and to press 2 to speak to a representative - funny thing we don't have Verizon cell service- watch out for these people- definitely a phishing call to get credit card or banking info.

This call stated that my Verizon account had been suspended, pending "verification".  I have no Verizon account!

Wife got a call from 800-922-0201.  Voice said Verizon account would be suspended.  Hung up on them.

Just received a call at 3:15 a.m. Recorded voice claiming to be Verizon and wanting me to press 1 or 2.  Will block.

Received a call asking me to verify my acct then someone came on stating someone ordered phones on my acct and they needed my birthdate and last 4 of ssn to cancel order and make a claim. Hung up and searched number to see it was a scam

Got a call on my Verizon Cell Phone saying that i had to contact them and press 2 now Got this as a voice mail at the end of the voicemail it played a very high tone.

Look up "spoofing" before posting a stranger's personal information on an open website.  REPORTED

Call was identified by my Verizon Sevice Provider as "Potential Spam."  So I did not answer.
Checked voicemail later, caller did not leave audio recording.
Blocking number.  Spoof of Verizon number.

Received a call staying my Verizon account had been deactivated.  I knew a payment was due so I hung up on the call and went right to my account...and it definitely had not been deactivated.
