Called and claimed to be Verizon Wireless and said there was going to be a $15 charge on my next months bill?

Claims to be from Verizon Wireless and offers $15 off of next Verizon bill by going to website.

I'm *not* a Verizon customer and don't ride on their network.

A poorly recorded (garbled, stuttering) computerized text-to-speech message claims to be from Verizon and offers a $15 credit (reward?) on your bill. Instructs to visit a non-verizon website and provide Verizon login information. (Message so garbled that I couldn't even understand the full web address.) ***SCAM*** Phishing for your Verizon login ID and password.
    • Caller: Claimed to be Verizon (NOT!)

Computerized voice saying I will be credited with $17 off my next bill if I go to bonus17.com and login with my Verizon information.
That domain is registered in Barcelona Spain.

I just got a very static filled call from them telling me to go to bonus17.com to redeem a $17 credit on my next Verizon bill. I'm assuming it's a scam.

Went to the web site, definitely a phishing scam.  Good looking copy of the Verizon site, I'm sure they will catch a lot of phish!

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!  Do not EVER login in to any supposed Verizon website other than the real one you normally use.  These scam messages direct you to real looking but fake Verizon websites located outside the US that actually pass the information you type to the real Verizon website to verify the userid and password all while they capture the data to run their scam. The next thing they do is login to your real Verizon account, change your password, add their own devices and run up thousands in fraudulent charges before you know about it and regain control of your account.  If Verizon is going to issue a rebate or discount, they will simply do it, there is never a need for you to login to a special website to obtain it.

Recording directing me to a (supposedly verizon) website to receive $17 credit on my Verizon account. Called twice, close together, on a Sat. morning. I wish I knew how to block them.

Verizon has been contacted and the website is being put on their list of scams to be investigated.  This 800 number belongs to an illegal business that conducts a variety of scams.  If you call it you be directed to any of one of the scams they play on people with promises of winning prizes and awards.  Remember though that the US government cannot spend any funds to protect the public against such matters unless it can be used to get votes.  Perhaps the gay abortion issues and black Hawaiian hatred will fade soon and phone cams can be used to control  the lily white and frightened into voting for the politically ambitious control freaks that need more riches funneled to them through tax manipulation.  Or you might believe that Sir Thomas Moore was on to something with the notion of a Utopian Society that is carved out of the masses of united and clear thinking fat white Americans.  Your call.

It's like the scammers don't even try anymore. That was an poorly recorded message- I got Verizon, and rebate out of it. It was actually pretty creepy at first until I realized it was a scam, I haven't had Verizon for ages.
